Chapter 10
Niall's POV
I have been here with Lily for the past three hours. No matter how bored I was getting I couldn't leave her. She needed someone. Her eldest brother Hugh seemed really nice but considering the circumstances we didn't talk much. I found out that he had to leave tomorrow because he was starting a new job in NSW, and her second brother Rhys was in the army for the next four years and wasn't able to come down. Lily's mum was in the room with her dad and the doctor. Neither of us knew what was going on. Harry and Eloise went back to Halls Gap ages ago. I still haven't let go of Lily's had, she still hasn't said anything since we left. It's almost like she a fragile piece of glass, and if she speaks or if I let go she will break.
After a while Lily's mum and the doctor come out. Her mums face is streaked with tears. "Can we please talk to Lily alone, Niall" before I could respond Lily pulls me in tighter and shakes her head furiously "shh, Lily it will be ok" I say to comfort her "I don't want you to leave" she whispers into my shoulder and starts crying again. So I hold her firmly and stroke her head. "Very well" says the doctor. "Lily, your father has had a serious heart attack. He's hanging in there but we don't know for how long. We have put him in a medically induced coma for now and we have the life support set up if we need to use it. But for now he is relatively stable and you can go and see him" the doctor finished speaking and told Lily's mother that she needed to do some paper work. When they are gone Lily gets up from her chair and pulls me into the room where her father lay with cords running out of him. I sit on the chair next to the bed while lily sits on top of me and takes her fathers hand in her free one, and starts crying softly
