The two of them stopped at a small, cozy cafe called A lady and her tea. Asami had gone here once with her friends many years ago. Korra walked ahead of Asami and opened the door for her. Korea bowed down pretending that Asami was a princess or something. Asami gave Korra a giggle. The cashier gave Korra a friendly look.
"Hey Korra welcome back. Who's the lady?"
Asami blushed.
"Ming-Hua stop it!" Korra whispered through her teeth.
"Okay, okay my bad! What can I get for you two?"
Asami looked up at the menu there were so many different choices it was overwhelming. "Um...I'll have an egg custard, and a medium milk tea."
"Okay, and for you Korra?"
"My usual."
"Okay so Crab Puffs, and Green
Tea?"
"Yep!"
"That'll be 25 yuans."
Korra handed Ming-Hua 2 bills and picked a table. The two of them made awkward small talk until they got their food. Asami had never had such an amazing meal in her life. She devoured it in minutes. "I take it you liked it."
Asami looks up from her food, and gave Korra a cute smile.
"Sorry I'm just really hungry."
"No, it's fine. Your kinda cute when you have food on your face." Korra picked up her napkin, and wiped a bit of custard off Asami's face. She loved the feeling of Korra being so close to her, it set off a wave of comfort in her.
"I..uh, thanks."
"We can go back to my apartment, you can stay for the night. Just until you get back on your feet." Korra tried her hardest to act casual.
"Oh no, I wouldn't wanna–"
"I insist!" Korra stuck out her hand for Asami to grasp.
"Well, if you insist than it would be rude to say no"
"That's the spirit!"
The two of them left the cafe and walked back to Korra's car. It was a short ride to the waterbender's apartment. It was covered in all different shades of blue and grey. "Your a southerner aren't you?"
"Yep, my secret is out." Korra shrugged her shoulders.
"That's pretty cool. I don't think I've ever met anyone from the South Pole."
Korea grasped Asami's hand and lead her to the guest room. There was a large king sized bed, with a large painting on top of it. To the left there was a dresser, a mirror and a door to the bathroom. To the right there was a closet.
"I hope it's okay."
"It's perfect thank you."
Asami didn't really know how to feel. I mean she was going to sleep in a stranger's house, but at the same time she felt safe. Like she knew this woman would never hurt her, but of course she couldn't be sure. This apartment was oddly cold. It was so cold outside, that she assumed it would be warm. Asami shivered.
"Oh! Sorry are you cold. I keep like that I'm kinda used to it. I'll get you a blanket."
Korra walked in a storage closet and can't back with a fleece blanket. She wrapped it around the heir's shoulders along with her arms. Asami loved every second of it. She could feel Korra's warm arms around her cold body. The two of them made their way to the couch, and watched a movie. It wasn't very good, but neither of them cared. All they cared about was the feeling of the other close to them. Korra looked down and saw the woman's head leaning on her's fast asleep. She carefully carried Asami to the guest bed, and placed the blanket on top. Asami waited until the door was closed and she opened her eyes. She wanted to tell Korra she was faking, but she wouldn't have carried her otherwise.
Asami slept soundly knowing that she was far away from her horrible father, and that a beautiful woman that she had a huge crush on was only a wall away.
