Time skip ~ 3 months

Lucy had just turned 8, today was her birthday and she walked into her new home, fairy tail.

The lights were off and everyone was hiding behind tables and chairs. Suddenly the lights came on and everyone jumped out from their hiding spots.

They all chanted in unison.
"Happy birthday Lucy!"

Lucy was startled and she flinched as everyone surprised her. Then she started giggling.
"Thank you!"

"No problem Luce." Her best friend Natsu appears behind her.

"Hehe, hey let's go eat some cake!" She points to the table with a huge strawberry cake sitting on it.

"Yea if we don't go now we might not even get any." Natsu looks in the direction of Erza scarlet. The red head was being held back by Mira.

Mira wore a top that showed most of her stomach and her hair was pulled up in a long white pony tail.

"Calm down Erza! It's just a cake! And it's for Lucy's birthday party! Your gonna have to control yourself!" Mira half yells at the red head who was gripping the edge of the table. Mira held her legs that were kicking with excitement.

Lucy and Natsu run over to eat the cake and Makarov takes out a lighter. He lights the candle at the top. The candle was in the shape of the words fairy tail.

All the kids sit around one table. Lucy and Natsu sit next to each other, Mira, Lissana, and Elfman all sit together. Erza, Levy, and Wendy sat together.

*** in this version of fairy tail, Wendy has always been with fairy tail since her dragon disappeared along with Lucy, Natsu, and Gajeel. So Wendy is a little younger than everyone.***

The rest if the guild stands around the table with the cake.

"Happy-birthday, to you... Happy-birthday to you.... Happy birthday to Lucyyy... Happy-birthday to you!"

Lucy had a smile on her face that could cheer anyone up if they looked at her. She stood up in her seat and blew out the candle on top of the gigantic cake.

Erza has been very patient, for Erza... And the strawberry obsessed Mage couldn't help herself anymore. She stuck her fist into the side of the cake and pulled out a huge glob of strawberry dairy. She stuffed the huge glob of cake in her mouth. Icing was smeared all over the sides of her mouth and the tip of her nose.

Everyone laughed at Erza and the joined in the fun. Lucy, Natsu, Erza, Mira, and Gajeel dug into the cake with their hands like their was no tomorrow.

Soon, the entire guild was having a cake fight. Erza went insane and started beating Gray and Natsu for throwing food.

"You don't treat cake that way idiots!" She smashes their heads together.

"Oww but everyone else is doing it!" They pleaded.

Meanwhile levy was sitting in the corner. Avoiding the food fight. Until a certain Iron boy came over to her with a glob of sweet in his hands.

"NO!!! Gajeel!" She screamed but it was to late. He threw the glob at her and soon her face had a layer of cake and her orange dress was now pink.

She growls,
"It's on!"

You'd never see levy more fired up. She made it her mission to get Gajeel back. She turned into a cake throwing monster. And honestly, Gajeel loved this side of levy.

Lucy and Natsu decide it was time to take a break. They sit on one of the benches around the guild, panting. They were both covered in white frosting and sprinkles dotted their faces.

"This is an awesome party Luce!" Natsu says after a long breather.

"Yea, but I didn't know it would turn out like this haha." Lucy wipes some of the frosting from her cheek.

"Hey, I have a question. Your a dragon slayer right?" Natsu asks.

Lucy nods and her expression saddens.

"What was your dragon like? Makarov told us that your dragon was very strong." He swings his feet from the bench he was sitting on.

"She was... Big, and... Gold"

"Gold?!" Natsu looks amazed.

" Igneell is red and he had a yellow belly. He was awesome."

Lucy looks at her best friend with worry.
"We're do you think they went?" She asks.

Natsu takes off his scarf, he always wore it for some reason but Lucy had never really thought to ask him.
"I don't know, but I'm gonna find him one day."

Lucy looks at the scarf in Natsu's hands.
"Did he give you this?"

Lucy runs her fingers along the striped scarf.

"Yea, I wear it every day. It's really important to me." He wraps the scarf around his neck again.

"Athenan gave me a heart locket." Lucy unhooks a golden locket from around her neck. It has a heart at the bottom to which she opens. The locket at the end of the chain was small. It was about the size of her thumb. It had a golden butterfly attached to the side of the heart. It was blue with gold engraved designs on it. When Lucy opened it the words I love you were engraved in the inside of the heart.

"Wow, it's beautiful!" Natsu exclaimed studying it carefully.

"I never take mine off either." Lucy closes it back and hooks it around her neck again.

Natsu wraps his arm around Lucy's shoulder playfully.
"Don't worry Lucy, we'll find our dragons one day."

Lucy smiles.

In the distance a high pitched voice catches both Natsu and Lucy's attention.

A certain exceed rants the words,
"They liiikkkee each other!"
