The just-risen sun shone softly on the city streets, bringing with it a flurry of early-morning activity. The lines of glares that shotted for his eyelids awaked him. Slivers of light peeped through the drawn blinds, casting thin golden stripes across her angelic face. There was she, sleeping peacefully in between his arms. He could wait through out his life to witness mornings like this. In the wash of the new light, her face took on the appearance of an old photograph, one of nostalgia, so beautiful. He watched as it brought her skin into focus, not yet animated with the warmth of who she was, for her was still in the land of dreams. And since there was no better thing to do but to bring his body so close that their hearts synchronised. He wanted to hug her till she woke up but he got up from the bed carefully without disturbing her sleep.
The morning light crawled across her face, caressing it like a gentle kiss. Sight still in the clutches of the night's glue, she hesitantly rubbed the dreams away. Thoughts of the visions in sleep come and go in waves, clinging on to the very last memory of the night but with little success. She finally opened her eyes and walked to the balcony. This morning wasn't gray, but by soothing lavender and brilliant amber. The colors merged into neon pink and peach. The cool breeze was soothing her inner soul. She was feeling little better today. Sidharth came to wake her up with two cups of piping hot tea, one with a spoon full of extra sugar just the way she liked.
"Good morning Shehnaaz!" , he wished her with a smile.
"Good morning!" ,she came inside.
"Here's your cup with a spoon full of extra sugar... Tujhe pasand hai na?" , his lips curled into a wide smile as he handed the cup to her.
"I don't drink tea anymore... " , she put the cup aside with a smile and headed towards the kitchen.
Sidharth was a little taken aback with this statement of her. He could remember how he used to wake her up every morning with two cups of piping hot tea, one for her another for him.

"Kitni badal gyi hai tu Shehnaaz... Pehle mere hath ki bani hui chai ke bina tera din nahi shuru hota tha aur abb tu chai hi nahi peeti... Pr galti shayad teri nahi hai... Maene hi shayad tujhe badal daala itna... " - he felt a slight pinch on the left side of his chest.
He came out of her bedroom and saw Shehnaaz brewing coffee for herself while humming a song.
"How are you feeling now?" , he asked.
"Ummm... Much better now." ,she replied.
He smiled hesitantly and sat on the sofa. Suddenly his eyes fell on a photo frame hanging on the nearby wall.
