the summer breeze
it whipped her hair
so long
so dark
so thick
so tangledthe sun
it shone down
relentlessly
from its perch
high in the evening sky
ready to retreat
ready to make room
for the sliver of a silver moonher hands
so small
fingers so long
so slender
more bone than fleshthe piano
sitting proudly
beneath the windowtickle the ivories
make them sing
a melancholy melody
carried by the whispering winda story of heartache
a story of loss
a story of agonyher fingers a flutter
up and down
the keyboard
black and white
white and blackher hair
falling in her eyes
blindnesseverything was dark
black
emptyyet she only saw him
strong
kind
soft spoken
dedicated
captivatingbut he wasn't there
so why did she see him
