they said that
we're all going to hell
no matter if you're friend or foe
straight to the devil you fell
because that's where people like us go
they said that
angels don't fall from the sky
but if they dare to grace the earth
have faith that they do not die
and pray for a rebirth
they said that
friends can't be lovers
yet there we were
under the covers
my feelings not unsure
they said that
you shan't waste time
but i waited before i made you mine
and composed a rhyme
when the clock struck half past nine
they said that
there's the one
who was made for you
your quest of love now done
do you feel the same way too
they said that
when there's a will there's a way
i had my mind set
but your words were biting and grey
i haven't given up yet
they said that
there's light after dark
have they ever been blind
a world so cold and stark
with all thoughts clouding the mind
they said that
goodbyes aren't easy
without a care you turned your back
even with your ragged breath wheezy
dangerously close to a panic attack
they said that
fools are the only ones to fall in love
and i believe that to be true
last time you touched me was a shove
with no i love you
they said that
a dead man is heavier than a broken heart
then i'm a costly war
tearing humanity apart
shaken to my very core
they said that
music is the cure to soul
hear the third movement
telling of a treacherous dole
a final love letter never sent
you said that
you'll love me forever
but you're just like the rest of them
with your words oh so clever
my very own little faux gem
