Matthew 28:20
"Teaching them to observe all that I have commanded you. And behold, I am with you always, to the end of the age."Reflect
It's so easy to come to God when you're in a comfortable situation. But what if problems, sin, and threats come? Is coming to God still your priority? Or you let your ego push you to run and hide away from Him?
It is indeed so easy to handle these kinds of situation based on your experiences or abilities, and act on them alone. You think you can do it again with your own knowledge because you were able to come by before; or, since you've failed before, you must know better this time.
The truth is, all of your actions were only driven by anxieties and pressure. You didn't have peace all those times, and you were just really striving so hard with your limited knowledge and abilities. You're driven by the standard that you've set yourself up, that you should be able to do it this time.
Apart from God, you're consumed of worries, thinking that you might fail. Without God, you can't find the peace that you've needed to calm your heart and guard your mind from the attack of the enemy. You can't even find peace from your own thoughts that continually feed you with lies.
Instead of doing it alone, instead of hiding away from God, hide behind Him and let Him face your situation. Matthew 28:20 reminds us that He is always with us no matter where we are. You don't have to waste your energy on running away from Him because He is already there, ready to extend help.
You see, you're not meant to walk in this journey alone.
You only need to humble yourself before God and receive His helping hand. Humility, acceptance, and obedience altogether go a long way. Peace is just on the other side of obedience. No need to be driven by anxiety because God embraces you with peace when you let Him handle your circumstances according to His power, love, and grace.
The kind of peace that goes beyond understanding.
In the past 28 days, we have learned that we can really trust the Lord for however He wants to narrate your life to be. And in every situation that you're going to face, nothing else can give you peace the way God's presence does.
God is always with you, and so is peace.
Respond
Declare peace over your life today. Ask God to make you feel His presence wherever you go. Seek His heart in your life and obey (because peace is just on the other side of obedience).
