One way that we can tell that the death was a lie is that there was and still is loads of alternates to the myth. From the name of the girl that caused the 24-year old's unfortunate death to the date of the crash and weather The Beatles' manager, Brian Epstein, was holding a contest to find look-a-likes with the same legendary talent that the four lads had, in case of this ever happening before McCartney's death or after just for a look alike for Paul.
Also, there is no evidence of there ever being a car crash that was in London and on the date of Paul's 'death'. There is some truth to this though as Paul's Aston Martin (the same in the theory) was in a crash but Paul was not in the car, but was at a party in Sussex.
