"You're a horrible dancer, Liv. You look like a chicken." Clary said, her words slurring.
I laughed. We were both pretty drunk, our vision blurred and our voices thick.
"I think it's time to go home, Clary. You're as drunk as my dad on game day."Clary nodded and started walking towards the dance floor instead of the exit. I chuckled to myself.
"Clary!" my voice barely above what my elementary school teachers would call an "inside voice". I raced after her, bumping into sweaty, dancing bodies. I stopped in my tracks, looking around.
I couldn't go home until I found my asshole of a best friend.
I saw a flash of Clary's red dress and immediately went towards it.
I ran straight into someone, who I could've sworn wasn't there before.
"Hey, watch where you're going!" I slurred. A tall, muscular figure clad in black everything was towering over me.
I smiled and looked up. "If you'll excu-" I stopped. He was the guy in the band, who had a beautiful Angel voice.
"Sorry, I wasn't looking where I was going. Are you alright?" he asked, looking genuinely concerned.
"Y-yeah. Sorry. Hey, you were just performing, weren't you?" I asked, feeling sober again.
"Yeah. Did you like our music?"
"Uh, yeah! Y'all were great, and I'm surprised I never heard yall before this. You were the lead singer right?"
He nodded, smiling goofily.
He was the most beautiful thing I've seen in my life.
"You were really good. This is going to sound crazy because I'm really drunk, but I could've sworn--well there were lights so I may have been imagining it--that you were like, well--I'm babbling, sorry. Never mind," I say, my cheeks turning bright red.
He chuckled. "I'm Luke. I feel like I've seen you before. Or maybe I'm imagining it. I wa-"
"Come onnn, Livvy! Let's goooo." Clary cut him off, grabbing my arm, and dragging me out of the club.
Wow, she went in the right direction this time.

It was close to 2am when I got home that night. All throughout the cab ride I couldn't stop thinking of that guy. Luke. I'm sure he knows my name considering you could probably hear Clary from Mexico.
His eyes were like oceans, and I had been getting lost in them.
I'll probably never see him again. Why does this even matter?
Once I was home, I collapsed onto my bed, out like a light in a split-second.
//
I woke up the next day, and looked at my clock. 12:03.
Shit, I'm going to be fucking late.
As I scrambled off the bed, I heard my dad snore from his bedroom.
Oh yeah, it's fucking Saturday.
I roll over onto my back, and start scrolling through my phone.
I had 8 texts from Clary.
Clary: That guy you talked to was cUte
Clary: Did you get those digits???
Clary: LIVVY
Clary: Meet me at the mall in front of VS pleaseeee
Clary: Liv
Clary: I expect to see you there
Clary: 2 sharp
Clary: See you there asswipe
I laughed out loud before texting a quick "See you there, shithead".
I put on a green sweater and some leggings and slipped on my combat boots before heading out to get some lunch.
I walked into Dairy Queen (yes, Dairy Queen. It's not just dessert!) and ordered a burger, some fries, and an Oreo blizzard. I sat down, destroyed my food, and got up to throw away the trash. I sat back down and began devouring my blizzard, when the bell rang, signaling someone came in.
I dropped my spoon, my heart rate picking up for some reason I had no explanation for.
It was Luke. He looked at me, and waved, probably remembering me. I smiled and waved back, glad I had already thrown away my food so I didn't look like a slob.
Why was I freaking out? Why did I care what he thought? I didn't even know him. We shared a few words, and I had been drunk as hell.
I don't know why, but I had to learn more about him. This was such a foreign feeling, but felt like I had to.
"Hey, is this seat available?"
I looked up, into those fucking sapphires of eyes. Shit.
"Uh, yeah," I said quickly, smiling.
He smiled warmly at me before sliding into the opposite side of the booth with his tray.
