Chasing Out Your Name (Your Name FanFic) [COMPLETE]

Re-Written/Chapter 1

I'm on my way to you, chasing out your name.

I glanced out of the train window. The day was so beautiful, the water of a river we were passing was sparkling thanks to the bright sun.
If this was a day like any other, I would of be so overjoyed because of how nice the weather is.
But there is too much on my mind.
No time to waste on admiring scenery. I needed to complete this puzzle in my brain.
What was his name?
If it wasn't for him, I wouldn't be here right now. Neither would my family. He saved all of our lives. The least I could do is try to remember his name.

I twirling my short hair, I thought about how I had always dreamed of living in Toyko. From the days I spent there, living his life, I've learnt the joys of it. The delicious cafes and just the energy of a city. I now could experience living there full time. That thought made me super excited and nervous for this.
But the most exciting part is the fact that that is where he lives.
Sure, it's a huge city so the possibilities of just bumping into him are very low but I'm pretty sure where the train said we are going was near his school.

"Sis?" Yotsuha said while tugging on my sleeve.
"What is it?" I snapped in annoyance. I get irritated when people snap me out of my train of thought.
"Will we live in a nice place?" She mumbled, sounding worried and frightened.
"Sorry for snapping you, and yes, we will. I'm sure of it."
"What if we get lost?"
"There are maps and I won't make you walk amywhere by yourself."
She sighed with relief and returned to reading a book.

My friends, Saya and Teshi were sitting behind us. We've been friends since forever, at least it feels that way. They also helped him and I get everyone safe and away from the meteor.
I'm so glad that I have people in my life that trust me and care about me that much. If the meteor didn't split into two, they would of been in so much trouble but they sacrificed themselves for me.
I would do the same for them.

Also, I ship them. And they know it. I make it super clear.
It's definatley going to happen someday, I know it. And when they get married, I expect nothing less than to be the maid of honour.

"What's up with you Mitsuha?" Granny asked, looking at my expression with utter confusing.
"Nothing" I sighed and returned to staring out the window.

Two hours later we arrived at our new house. It was small but really nice and neat.
"Is that a bed?!" Yotsuha shouted with glee.
That probably sounds super strange to you, but hear me out. Back in Itomori we literally didn't have beds. I'm not kidding.
So we all unpacked, which didn't take long since there wasn't much we had on us. And since it was pretty late, made a quick dinner. We brought things from the supermarket on the way to the house.

It was midday when I woke up. I was super exhausted from everything that had happened.
I didn't get to do this on week days normally, like you (at least I think) but we didn't start school for another couple of days so we had time to settle in and kind of just process everything. It's not easy to forget about the fact that your home and hometown all got destroyed.
After a while, I had decided that I couldn't just carry on going without trying.
"Hey, I'm going for a walk. I need some fresh air. I'll unpack later." I said and then sprinted out the front door, hoping to get there in time.
After running for a minute, I started to recognise where I was. His highschool was near, I know it. I could even see the building in the horizon. Eventually, I got there. I never thought I'd make it but I did.
They were all leaving. A sea of students walking everywhere

I heard a familiar voice. It made my heart skip a beat.
"Hey. Who wants to go to the cafe?"
"No... I have got work. Hopefully another time, I'll see you tomorrow."
"Hey, before you go, do remember where it is?! We don'twant you getting lost." They laughed.
"Will you stop asking me that everyday? It's so annoying!!!"
"Why do you have a shift everyday then? Hmm?"
"Cause I spent all my money on sweets thanks to your stupid cafe meet ups everyday."
"Why did you say I like that?"
"Because."
"Great answer."

It was him. There he was. Right near me. I needed to talk to him but he was already so far ahead because I had paused for so long in shock.
"Where is your friend going?" I asked hoping they would just tell me without thinking it was weird.
I should of known that they weren't dumb, so they were obviously going to think it was weird.
"Like that doesn't sound stalkerish! Who are you? You don't even go to our school! "
"Um... sorry but I know him. I promise I'm not a creep, I'vejust got to talk to him about something really important."
"If you do tell me his name, then I'll believe you."
"B-but...that's the thing! I don't remember!" I cried in fury.
Instead of helping me or asking further questions, they snickered and walked away.

I was so close. I couldn't give up now. I stood there, thinking about what I had overheard.
Take had said something about spending money on loads of sweets.
Oops, that was my fault. I spent loads....
He must be working a shift at the restaurant then!
I think I can remember where it is. I texted Granny, saying I'll be buying myself some dinner tonight so she didn't have to cook for me, and headed off.

"Miss is anyone meeting you here?"
"Uh no, it's just me."
I looked up from my at who I was talking to. It was Ms. Okedera. I smiled back at her, instead of hugging her which I really wanted to do but she wouldn't know who I am so I just carried on smiling.
"Ok then, can you sit over there please."
She pointed to a nice small table in the corner.

I went over and sat down, hoping he would end up being my waiter.
Or at least noticed me.

"Excuse me Miss what do you want to drink?"
I looked up from my menu. It was him. There was a long silence as we stared at each other, not sure what to do.

Looks like the world was on my side this time.

Hey! So I decided to re-write this book but I thought I'd keep the old chapters too because why not?
I haven't written for ages but I thought I'd do this because re-writing isn't as hard because you've got all the story and plot all there, you're just adding more description and stuff.

So yeah.
