Chasing Out Your Name (Your Name FanFic) [COMPLETE]

Re-Written/Chapter 2

We are staring at each other in silence for so long, people start giving us weird looks.
One waiter comes up to him and whispers, "Is everything okay, Taki?"
He nods as a response and then replies, "Yeah...sorry. Um...what do want as a drink?" He asks me nervously.
Taki. That was his name. Such a beautiful name. I can't believe I forgot it.
"Taki..?" I mutter as the other waiter walks away.
"You're here...in front of me...I can't believe it. I never thought I'd see you again."

Our hands slowly creeped closely to each others. My hand still faintly had the words he had written on them a couple of nights ago. Seeing this, I put out my other hand and he wrote 立花 瀧 (Taki Tachibana).
Afterwards, he then held out his hand so I quickly wrote down 宮水 三葉 (Mitsuha Miyamizu).

We weren't going to loose each other again. It was an unspoken agreement.

I couldn't believe I actually found him. I'm proud of my instincts for taking me here. My heart was aching for him more than I ever thought it could.

"Mitsuha, can you uhh, meet me after my shift? I'll make sure to finish shortly after you finish your meal."
"Of course." I smiled at him.
"Oh, and what drink do you actually want?" He laughed
"Oh! I completely forgot about that." I started laughing too, "your co-workers must be so confused and suspicious. Um I'll have a water then."
"Ok. Ok yeah. See you soon."

He kept his word, after his shift he walked me home.
"I don't want you to walk home alone, in the dark, especially when you are new living here. Wait, so you've moved to Tokyo. You'll get bored of it soon. The magic leaves after you've been here more than a month." He chuckled, "How old are you?"

I looked at him confused. Why was he asking that?
"I'm 17...just like you...don'tyou remember? The comet was only a few days ago."
He stopped in his path, looking shocked.
"What did you just say? The comet was three years ago, Mitsuha."
"No it wasn't."
"Yes it was....why does our timelines always have to mess up? I think we should definatley get to the bottom of that but for now, please pretend like it was three years ago for you too. I don't want them thinking you're ill or anything, okay?" He said with literal concern. Nice to know he really cares about me.
Wait obviously he does, jeez, he's made it super clear.
He was still standing there, waiting for my response.
"Ah sorry, um...yeah. Okay."

My phone started buzzing loads when we were around five minutes away from my home.
I got it out of my pocket, seeing loads of text messages and missed calls from Granny's new phone.
Oops. Of course she's worried, it's super dark and it's a city that I'm not used to (at least she thinks).
"Oh God, I should of never ignored it. Can I call her back?"
"Of course? Why are you asking me? Call her back now."
Ring ring
MITSUHA ARE YOU OKAY? Yotsuha's voice bellows
"Why are you using Granny's phone?"
BECAUSE WE WERE WORRIED AND SHE DOESN'T KNOW HOW TO USE IT SO ANSWER MY QUESTION
"Yes I'm okay, I promise. I'm nearly home."
This isn't Itomori. We don't know everyone and everywhere. It isn't safe to walk alone at this time. Are you on a bus?
"Um no but I'm walking with someone I know. I promise I'm safe and sound. I'll be home really soon I promise. Literally four minutes."
Okay
"Okay. Bye."
I hung up and started walking twice the speed I was.

I had really wanted this walk to last for as long as possible because I was talking to Taki without a time limit and the stress of having to save the people of Itomori.
But I couldn't just leave them like that and then text or call them about what was happening. Of course they were worried, I was stupid to think they wouldn't be.

And then we arrived at my new doorstep. The dreaded moment.  I felt a pang of disappointment in my chest.

"So this is your new home then? Looks nice." And then he wrote on this piece of paper that was in his pocket and passed it to me.
"Call or text me. If you don't, I'll have to stop by and ask why" He chuckled.
I gave him a quick hug while whispering goodbye then watched him walk away.

Hey! This is the second re-written chapter. I made it longer because it was really short.
