The stress going through me right now is intense. I didn't sleep a freaking wink, knowing he was in the room next door did not help at all. Only wanted to go and curl up in his arms, definitely didn't help. Why am I like this! Why am I this way? I don't want to be in love with someone that doesn't want me and yet here I am. Ugh, and now I have to talk to my mother, great.
"Yes?"
"Where are you?" She frantically asked.
"Addison's you know this already Mom. I left yesterday afternoon."
"Why are you there?"
"Wedding duties, what is your problem?"
"You should skip out and come to brunch with your Dad and I."
"I can't, this is where I need to be with my best friend."
"Is he there?"
"He's in the wedding Mother."
"You need to leave."
"I'm 27, I don't need to do anything that I don't want to do."
"Sweetie, you shouldn't be near him. He is horrible for you."
"We're in the same wedding and have the same friends." My mom sighed.
"Your Dad and I set you up on a date for tonight."
"Mom seriously? I am busy! I have to go; Anthony is naked and waiting for me." I hung up and started laughing not knowing why I even said it more than to just piss them off. I turned off my phone and went to shower and get ready for the day before heading downstairs. Everyone was in the kitchen laughing.
"The bitch seriously lifted my arm up so high I swore I was going to pass out." Ant said and kept laughing.
"Hey Brie." Addison smiled with a wink. "Hungry?"
"Sure, I have a question first."
"What's up?"
"Was this an elaborate scheme between the two of you? Like, the rest of the wedding party, are they even really going to be here later?"
"Brie."
"Oh no, you don't get to Brie me. You know how shitty I have been the past two weeks, and then to do something like this Addison. It's almost unforgivable." I knew Houston and Anthony were both staring at me but I was straight on Addison she took a deep breath.
"You need to listen to him."
"I don't need to do anything." Was my body temperature rising? Probably because I was pissed.
"Brielle! Please just listen to him! This isn't-"
"Fuck you." I started to cry. "You're my best friend, you were there when..." Anthony diverted my attention to him by putting his good arm on my arm. "What?" I snapped at him.
"This isn't on her. It's on me, all of it. They're our friends, they are just trying to help us to be happy."
"How is this on you? I mean besides the obvious. Please explain all of this to me." Apparently now I'm listening.
"When I went to meet your Dad, he all but threatened me to stay away from you."
"My Dad wouldn't do that Anthony."
"He did. I wouldn't lie to you. He told me that he found out some things, explained what those bullshit things were and was having both of us followed by a private investigator. Kept telling me I had some crazy relationship with god knows who else and always partied when in Tennessee. You know all of that is fabricated. He said if I didn't walk away from our relationship that he and your mom would walk away from you for good. All of this started because you didn't want to lose them. What else was I supposed to do Brielle?" My jaw was to the floor.
