Everything was dark, but I could hear everything clearly.

“I think the coma was caused by the brain tumor,” I heard some voice say. COMA! BRAIN TUMOR! The man couldn’t have been talking about me. I heard someone leave.

“Sierra, honey, we love you,” I heard my mom and dad say, their voices shaky, they had obviously been crying. It was then I knew something was wrong. My parents hardly ever cry. I tried to gather my thoughts. I remember the noise, my head pounding, and the clouding of my brain.

I was in a hospital.

I just knew it. But why? ... The doctor said something about a brain tumor and a coma. I had a brain tumor! And I was in a coma! Well that explained the headache. I tried to open my eyes, but it felt like they were glued shut. I tried to talk but my lips felt like rocks. Max! I wish Max were here. Just then the man, who I assumed was my doctor, walked into the room.
