One thing to know about the store is that nepotism runs deep, and most people who work at the store have some relation to another; only a very few who are hired don't know a friend of a friend. So it asks the question, what happens when a new trainee tries to pick up his trainer while her boyfriend stands about 6 feet away?
For some reason, unknown to us whenever the managers hire a new batch of people, they trust me, Emily and Fiona (one of our co-workers) to train them. This means for six hours; we are in very close proximity trying to get to know the newbies while also teaching them how to do their new jobs. On one fine night, we were training a group that was comprised of, primarily, teenage boys, including one inparticular that was giving everyone the creeps. We are going to call him Chad (what else would you call a douchey guy who gives off the creepy vibes). It just so happened that with in the group of new hires, one of the trainer's boyfriends was also being trained, where the nepotism comes in. Chad had taken a particular liking to Fiona. It got to the point that we had to grab her a sweater because he had wondering eyes and was too dumb to cover it up or have the common decency to not do it in the first place.
Her boyfriend had worked in a diffrent department for a while before he moved up to the front which meant we were already friends. Chads obvious attempts to WOO his gal hadn't gone unnoticed and his anger was growing by the moment. Not wanting to get fired plans were made to figure out how to deal with Chad, after discussing harassment with them and making it obvious that his action was not appreciated he did not stop. This inevitably spiralled into how to deal with him while also keeping his job. You might wonder why we just didn't fire him on the spot, well we are all part-time workers who hold very little power and are all only working there to pay for school and after telling the manager they decided to do nothing.
It is common knowledge that if you were to get into a physical altercation on store property you would most likely lose your job. But, if the video cameras facing the abandoned carwash are hypothetically broken the gentlemen could possibly slap some sense into the creep and get him to leave his girlfriend alone, HYPOTHETICALLY.
Chad finally smartened up and realized that Fiona's boyfriend had been standing next to him for the majority of the night and once we let them go home, you have never seen a person run so fast into his mothers lexis.
