Beep..Beep.. I woke up groggily trying to find my phone so I could turn of my alarm. With my eyes half open i managed to turn the alarm off. Just then like clockwork a little girl was already knocking on my door.

"Mom! Are you waking up, we cannot miss this flight! Aunty Ember would be super upset" She squealed from excitement.

"Yes Iris, I'm awake!" I responded. As quickly as I could I walked into my restroom to take a quick shower. When I got out Iris was already on my bed fully dressed luggage in hand.

"Mom you took a shower, now we're never going to make it!"

"We will be fine Iris, why don't you start turning on the car and putting the luggage in and ill meet you down there?"

"Fine, but you better hurry please".

"Okay I will" I said. As soon as she left my room I went into my closet that was surrounded by labeled moving boxes to find something to wear, I choose some high wasted jeans and a simple plaid red shirt. Then I let down my hair and put some eye liner and a bit of gloss. I looked around the restroom to make sure I hadn't forgotten anything as i was walking away something on my mirror caught my eyes. There hanging was a simple Texas shape necklace. Just then I had a flash back of Iris's dad, he had given this to me when I was pregnant.

"Poppy I want you to know how much i love you girls"he said to me as he put the necklace around my neck while touching my belly.

He really was an amazing guy , until the cancer took him away from us. It was so sudden we we're both so young. We we're just beginning our life, we had just bought our first house and  started  talking about the future. Poor Iris will never get to know her father. How funny and smart he was. When i came back into reality I realize I had tears running down my face.

"I miss you everyday James, I hope you're at peace wherever you're" I whispered to myself wiping away my tears.

Making my way to the front door I checked all windows, doors, stove and lowered the air conditioner. This would be the last time I got to do any of this, after James dies I had such a hard time affording this place that I knew it was time to put it for sale. When I reached the front door I could see a very impatient Iris in the front seat.

"Hurry mama!We only have 2 hours till our plane leaves!"

"I'm going Iris, I just have to lock the door and put on the alarm."...See now we can go." I said.

"Finally! I'm so excited mom, we haven't seen Aunty Ember in forever." She said.

"Well it doesn't help that she lives super far away." I responded turning on the car and pulling out our driveway making our way to the airport.

When we got to the airport everything went pretty fast, we checked in our luggage then we went through security and we sat waiting for out flight to be called. After 55 minutes our flight was called and we where on our way to West Virginia to go live with James sister Ember. Ember is the sister I never had she is so sweet and honest and reminded me so much of James probably because they where twins. When she found out about my struggles she immediately offered for us to go live with her and even offered me a job at her Realtor agency. She was honestly an Angel sent from heaven.
