Luke's POV

After this morning with Ashton, I couldn't focus the rest of the day.

As I was walking to class, I had turned around to see the most heartbreaking sight.

Ashton and Toby. Kissing.

I sighed, shaking my head. He has a boyfriend, that he loves. I need to stop obsessing over him.

"Mr. Hemmings, care to explain why you aren't listening?"

My head snapped up, cheeks flaming a bright red and my breathing started to pick up as I gave Mrs. Dodds a forgiving smile, laughing nervously.

"Um...S-science stuff? I...", I chuckled, acting like I knew what was going on.

"Luke?"

"Yes, ma'am?"

"This is Math class."

"Oh-I-I'm sorry-"

"See me after class." She muttered, rolling her eyes at the students that made the 'ooh' sound.

I gulped, running my hand through my hair.

I hate school.

After class

"Luke, you're one of my best students, what's happening? This past week you haven't been your usual outgoing self. I'm worried about you." She gave me a small smile, crossing her legs as she sat on her desk.

"Nothing. Mrs. Dodds. I've haven't been getting enough sleep, that's all." I looked every where but at her, knowing she didn't believe me one bit.

She raised her eyebrows, but nodded reluctantly and motioned for me to leave.

I mumbled a quiet "Goodbye" before walking out the door and rushing to my locker.

I gathered my books for next period, my depressed mood suddenly becoming happy at the thought of seeing Ashton.

I turned around, seeing Ashton walking towards me with an unknown expression on his face.

"Hi! Or is it hey?" He said, giggling a bit before getting his things from his locker as well.

We began walking to Language Arts together, it being my most difficult subject. Ashton knew that, and that's why he's always my partner when doing projects.

A few seconds after we stepped into Language Arts, the bell rang and our teacher, Ms. Fleming, told everyone to take their seats.

As always, Ashton sat in the desk beside me, pulling out his binder and a pencil. He began to write something while the teacher talked on about whatever she was talking about. At the moment, I couldn't care less. I was focused on Ashton. His dimples, his hair, his smile, his eyes, how cute he looked in a bandana, how goddamn good his ass looks in those jeans today wow-

"Lucas? Lucifer? Lukey?"

I blinked, looking down at the growing bulge in my pants, looking back up and Ashton standing over me.

"I, uh, yeah?" I said nervously, crossing my legs, and biting my lip.

"Project. You. Me. Together." He giggled, scooting our desks closer together.

He sat down, putting down a piece of paper and some colored pencils.

"Okay, this project is so easy. I swear, she thinks we're children sometimes. Just write down a list of simple and commonly used adjectives, and then on another column write down more descriptive ones to replace the bad ones. Make sense?"

I nodded my head, but not really listening.

"Yep. You look hot in that bandana."

Wait.

Shit.

Shit.

"I'm sorry! I- ignore that I said that, God I'm stupid." I blushed, throwing my head into my hands and trying to imagine I hadn't said that, it was fine, he probably didn't even hear me.

"It's fine, Lukey. Th-thanks." I looked up slowly, seeing Ashton smiling down at his paper, although he seems a little flustered.

"No problem. Um, let's keep working."

"Good idea."

We continued working, occasionally I would look up at him, and he'd already be looking at me and vice versa.

"Hey, do you have the red?" I asked, and gasped when I accidentally flung my pencil on the ground.

How does my hand just all of a sudden spazz?

"I got it, Lukey. Its fine."
Ashton said, standing up and walking over to the pencil, bending down to grab it.

And oh my god, his ass is near me I could almost touch it-

"Go ahead, it's the only chance you'll ever get." I heard Ashton say, laughing a bit.

I said it out loud. Oops.

I laughed too, but it came out as more of a squeak. What more can I do to embarrass myself?

And then the bell rang, signaling third period.

Saved by the bell. Nice.
