»»»»»»»»»»»»»»»They had been shadowing you both for a while. You being Captain Kirk, Mr. Spock, a handful of crewmen, and yourself. You were the first to notice. A shadow across the ground, the rustling of plants, the hushed whispers in a language unknown to you or the rest of the party. After conveying your suspicions to the captain, he decided it would be best to split up into smaller groups and take separate routes back to the ship.
You were chosen to be paired up with Spock. Well, you were more forced than anything, seeing as everyone else didn't want to have to be alone with the half-Vulcan. To be honest, you were rather hesitant yourself, but didn't have much of a choice. The captain had been trying for a while to get you two together, and this was another one of his stupid tricks. You assumed he thought you two would have a mini make-out session before returning to the ship.
As the crew dispersed every which way, you just let Spock lead. You were awful with directions, and would have been lost without someone with you.
You walked in an awkward silence for a while, side by side. You couldn't hear anything following you, or see anything, but kept silent anyways to allow Spock's sensitive ears pick up on anything you couldn't.
"Stop walking," the Vulcan said to you suddenly. You paused automatically, the hairs on the back of your neck standing up.
"What is it?" You ask quietly.
"Someone is approaching," responded the first officer. Sure enough, you could hear faint, distant footsteps.
You quickly scanned the surrounding area. You didn't see anybody but did notice a small cave, a perfect hiding place.
You grabbed the Vulcan's hand and pulled him to the cave. He was quiet, and moved stiffly, staring at you the whole time. You pulled him into the cave (which was a lot narrower than you first anticipated) and motioned for him to be quiet with a finger to your mouth, even though he probably didn't need to be told.
You waited in silence a good few minutes. You were well aware of your close proximity to the Vulcan in front of you, practically chest to chest. It was uncomfortable for you, and could only assume it was more so for him. 'After all,' you thought, 'Vulcans are don't touch peopl-' Your thoughts trailed off in sudden realization.
You were still holding his hand.
Your head turned from the side to face him, only to find him already staring at you. Your face went red, and you dropped his hand like a hot potato.
"I'm so sor-" you began quietly but stopped. Your eyes went wide as you felt it, his fingertips brushing yours. You froze completely. His eyes stayed glued to yours as if nothing had occurred. But it had, and your hand tingled as you felt him grab your hand again, running his thumb over your knuckles. He moved your hand into a odd position, your forefingers against his. Realization hit you across the face. A Vulcan kiss.
"I, u-um," you said completely disheveled. Spock brought his head down, closing the small gap of space between you two. His nose brushed against yours and he paused, as if afraid to scare you off. When you didn't move, he brought his lips to yours in a human kiss.
It was how you had expected him to kiss. Soft and sweet, no fancy gestures or over-doing it. And you found yourself kissing back eyes fluttering shut in an instant.
"Ha!" A person jumped out at you from the opening of the cave. You jerked yourself back, hitting your head on the back of the rock. Spock swiftly dropped your hand, not before Jim caught a glance at it.
"Finally!" He said happily before moving to let you both out of the cave.
"Wait, you were following us the whole time?" You asked as you rubbed the back of your head.
"Me and the lieutenant here," he motioned to the man behind him. "I'd bet him ten bucks you both would get at it. You owe me ten Ron."
You blushed bright red, and thought you saw some green on the tips of Spock's ears. "Let's just get back to the ship," you grumbled as you began walking.
"Um lieutenant, ships that way," remarked a sassy Kirk. You sighed and motioned for him to lead the way. You and Spock followed behind the captain and the other lieutenant, occasionally brushing fingertips.
Kirk would not let you live the incident down.
