It was in the middle of the cold and dark night, the stars were the only light source to a certain area of the park woods that someone was traveling through.
Miranda was walking through the forest, glancing around as she was on patrol duty, searching for a demon killing machine she had heard rumors about.
As she walked down a trail, she paused as she felt her ear twitch, making her slowly grab her daggers handle and quickly pulled it out in front of her as she soon heard a stick snapping behind her.
She looked confused as she saw a little girl, sobbing quietly in fear as Miranda was pointing the knife at the center of her forehead.
". . . Oh, I'm sorry. Are you okay?" Miranda quickly sheathed her dagger away, slowly kneeling down in front of the little girl. The little girl didn't mean her eyes though, but instead stared at what was looming over Miranda.
It was until, too late, The figure attacked and Miranda's shriek was quickly cutted off, everything going black.
Miranda soon woke up in what looked like a gray world yet it contained nothing.
She rubbed her head in pain until she heard voices muttering from a distance. She stared at the direction for a while before slowly standing back up and walking her way over, not wanting to question what happened to the little girl that was with her the night before whatever happened to Miranda, happened.
