" I don't have a kid yet, But I remember something similar to that. I remember a small little blonde girl came in so I could give her a leg prosthetic, when i was putting it on her, I remember her crying and I asked what was wrong. It turned out the kid was bullied for losing a leg and not having a Valentine. Sad thing was, Valentine's day was her birthday. I may have shared a small story about my leg to her, and We celebrate her birthday. She was. . I think nine and she was just happy that day. Apparently her boyfriend had dumped her on Valentine's day and now she felt depressed. I went ahead and bought her a box of  cookies and coffee. I told her to take care of herself and herself only. She looked rather surprised but thanked me. I believe I still have her number and we talk every so often. "
