A large moving van parked in front of 221B Baker Street. It was a tight fit, it just barely made it but it fit between the small cars and people walking around. As soon as it was parked one of the doors opened a woman, Octavia, jumped out of it and immediately began to stretch her legs. A huge grin was on her face, her eyes seemed to sparkle as they landed on their new home. "Here it is boys! 22B Baker Street!" She shouted, her voice full, of excitement.
"It's 22 1 B BakerStreet. You forgot the 1 Octi..." said a lean blond man following her out of the van. The man, Sterling, pushing his glasses back up his face using his free hand, the other held a rather small hairless fat with a maroon sweater on it. "Give her a break." Another voice said "She's been cooped up in a van all day." The last man, Dakota, said as he got out of the drivers side.
His bones cracking and snapping as he got out and stood next to them. "Exactly, thank you Dakota." Octi said as she placed a kiss onto his cheek, having to step on her tiptoes to reach him. "This is where our new lives begin! We can reopen the comic shop around here once we get some cash, remind me to thank the landlady for giving Dakota a job." Octavia said, immediate going to the back of the van and opening it up.
Having a bit of trouble despite it being a rather light door. Sterling set the cat around us next and the three of them Baganda to unpack the boxes. Octavia almost dropped a few here and there and their cat, Seymour, playing with the comics they had on them. Eventually, after a couple of boxes were carried into the apartment and downstairs to their new home two men walked outside towards the three of them. Only Dakota noticed them at first and it wasn't until Dakota tapped on Octavia's and Sterling's shoulders that they all took notice.
One of the men was tall with curly black hair and a lean figure. The other was shorter and had blonde and silverfish hair. The shorter one looked much friendly than the taller one. As soon as Octavia saw the taller man she dropped the box she was holding and immediately went up to him. Without warning she grabbed the sides of his face and brought his face down to hers.
Her hands were cold despite moving a lot. Cold as a corps and the tall man took notice. "Sterling- dude you gotta see this guys eyes! They're like a green-blue-brown- A rainbow! I gotta write this down for a chara-" before she could finish Sterling immediately grabbed her shoulders and drew her back. His face was flushed red due to second hand embarrassment. "I am so, so, so sorry about her! She acts before she thinks!" He said while shooting her a murderous glare.
She looked as if she did nothing wrong. "If the guy didn't want me to do it he would have stopped me. Isn't that right- uh...." "Sherlock Holmes." he said standing back up. "This is my friend John Watson." He said motioning towards the shorter man.
Dakota came up behind Sterling and Octavia and extended his hand. "Sorry-I'm Dakota. You've already met Octavia and Sterling. They're both handfuls." He said with a slightly nervous laugh.
John took his hand and shook it. "It's fine, Sherlocks done worse," he said with a laugh. Sherlocked rolled his eyes and looked back at Octavia, Sterling, and Dakota. Taking in every detail he could. "I'm surprised we were even able to move in! I can't tell you how hard it is to find a nice living space around this area!" Dakota said while taking Sterlings hands off of Octavia.
John's head tilted slightly. "Really? How come?" He asked, but before Dakota could answer Sherlock said: "Because comic book artists don't make a lot of money." Immediately all their eyes were on him. Once again Octavias hands were on Sherlocks cheeks again and her eyes were sparkling. "How the hell did you know that?!" Sterling questioned. He knew an cheap apartment was gonna have setbacks but he didn't think a psychic neighbor was one of them.
"It was obvious. Octivas right hand has a bump on her ring finger and you only see that on an artist hand. Her right arm is stronger than her left though I assume that is also helped by the amount of porn she keeps. There are also the comics lying about in the van." Everyone went silent.
As soon as John heard the comment about the porn he expected Sherlock to get smacked. Instead he was met but Octivia's curious face. "Okay I get the comics and shit but where did you get thr porn?" "Obvious, it was one of the first boxes you pulled out that was clearly marked 'Porn'." He said blankly. "Damn- I thought I wrote that small enough-" "I'm sorry we're not gonna ask why we're okay with him just calling us out??" Sterling asked.
"He's a detective, it's fine." Octavia said. "Consulting Detective." Sherlock corrected her. "Wait- how did you pick up on that." Dakota asked. He shot John a confused look. John shrugged, for him this had been the most normal thing all week.
"It's the way he's dressed and talked. It's obvious, even I could pick up on it and I'm an idiot." Octavia said. "I mean yeah I picked up on that by why are we just letting him call you out?" Sterling asked. At this point getting tired of Octavia and her new found "friend" bonding. "Easy. It's hot." She said a little too bluntly.
Like it was obvious and that Sterling should have guessed it. He really should have. Octavia wrapped her arm around Sherlocks shoulder. Sherlock was brought back by the sudden jester both because she was wearing a sweater and still managed to be as cold as a corpse and just by how touchy she was despite being a stranger to her. Loud and easily impressed Sherlock noted to himself. "Guys I think this is the start of a new friendship! Wouldn't you say?" Octavia asked with a bright smile.
