I stood on the porch as I waited for mike to come like he did every morning but it seemed like today was an exception so I walked back into the house and went to the phone to see if he was coming

"Hey you okay" I looked over to see hopper eating breakfast giving me a strange look

"Uh yeah just gonna make a call" I walked into my room and shut the door hearing the phone dial

"Hello this is the wheelers" Karen answered

"Hi is mike there"

"Yeah just a sec mike phone" I heard her yell so I pulled the phone away a bit until it stopped

"Hello"

"It's 9:32 your meant to be here by now"

" sorry ted I was just about to call I um- can't see you today"

"What wh...why not" I looked out the window confused as to what he was doing

"It's my nana she's really sick"

"But my dad said this morning that your nana was fine and it was all a false alarm"

"Yeah that's what we thought at first but then she took a turn for the worst yeah we think she might die" he stuttered

"What. MOM GET OF THE PHONE HIW MANY TIMES DID NANA CALL NO MOM JUST GET OF THE PHONE ha sorry about that " they screamed at each other

"Was that your mum"

"Yeah she's so upset she's making no sense because we have to go to the nursing home to see nana"

"So are you coming here after you see your nana"

"No I mean I-I just thinking I need to be alone with my feelings today" I scrunched my eyebrows up in confusion

"Mike are you lying to me"

"No what friends don't lie what mom my moms calling me better go talk to you Tomorrow miss you all ready bye"

"Okay b-" I heard a beep symbolising he had put the phone down so I walked out my room where I saw hop still eating his cereal

"Hey everything okay" I put the phone down on the holder and walked to my bedroom again

"Yeah I'm gonna have a girl day is that okay"

"Sure yeah okay" he answered grinning like a child
