Mrs. Stephens: Uh uh! Yall get into yall couple stuff after class yall got work to do. Since everyone feels like talking... everyone starting from the back row. Read chapter 7 and each person reads a paragraph and after every paragraph the next person has to give a statement on what they read. Come on let's get to work.

In gym class which is Tamara and Jose's 2 period class where the whole class is running laps around the building....

Jose: Come on baby! Put some pep in your step. You're slowing down on me. Must need to go to work on you some more. (Smirking)

Tamar: Oh shut up. I'm not that slow.

Jose: Slower than a few months ago. All that happy weight been paying off.

Tamara: Ion know about happy but it damn sure is some weight. Baby I need to talk to you.

Jose: About?

Tamara: I mean in private. Can we have dinner later on today a lil after school?

Jose: Why I got the feeling it's bad news? (Stops running and looks at her)

Tamara: (stops running) Not exactly. But I dont wanna get into it now, that's for later. So where we gon' eat at? (Pokes his stomach)

Coach T: Aight class. Line up,spread out! (Students spread out and rows) Now drop and give me 20 push ups and I want 25 sit ups with 15 jumping jacks and 30 high knees. I dont care what order you do em in I just want em done!! This ain't recess or a playground. This is P.E. meaning physical education meaning physical training and activity! Then when you're done get a drink of water and hop in the showers but dont take all day you got other students that wouldnt wanna be late for their other classes! You'll all should be able to get your exercises and shower time done by the time the 2nd bell rings! If you're late just tell them you were in P.E. and had to shower! Now begin! (Starts timer)

Tamara: Oh my God.  I'm not gon' make it.

Jose: You know I got you. Just control your breathing and you'll be good. Come on. I'll hold your feet and count. (She starts doing sit ups) There you go! 10...11...12...13........

Tamara: I cant do this. I feel like I'm about to throw up! (Gets up and runs to the nearest trash bin, spills her guts)

Jose: Tam! (Runs over to her)

Coach T: Ok. (Walks to her) Tamara do you need to go to the nurse? What happened did you get to hot?

Tamara:  I dont know. My stomach just... upset I think I gotta sit this one out coach. Im sorry I just can't do it.

Coach T:  Ok. Well Jose get back in line. I'll hold your feet. Come on. (Jose starts doing his sit ups)
