"5, 4, 3, 2, 1... HAPPY NEW YEAR!" Everyone exclaimed. I looked around and saw couples kissing, people toasting, and everyone just all around celebrating the fact that they made it into 2015 alive, and healthy.
I started to frown as I saw my best friend kissing her boyfriend. Not even gonna lie and say I didn't get extremely jealous when my little sister even got to kiss her boyfriend. I sighed and walked over to the boardwalk.
Taking a sip from my wine glass, I felt a presence stand next to me.
"Single on New Years too huh?" He asked. I turned and looked at him.
"Haha, yeah.."
"What's your name?" He asked.
"Yn, you?"
"Rayan, but call me Ray."
"Okay Ray, nice to meet you."
"Same to you. Since we're both single on New Years, I guess we could both make that change."
"How--" I was cut off by him kissing me. I was caught off guard but eventually kissed back.
"Happy New Years, Yn." Ray said as we pulled away.
"Happy New Years, Ray." I said, smiling.
