"What do you mean she is gone! Couldn't you stop her!?" Michael irately demanded, slamming his palms down on both corners of Devon's desk. His usually calm blue eyes turning a dangerous shade of stormy grey as he tried to wrap his head around the news.

"She is gone, Michael. Bonnie has decided it was time to move on. I could just as soon stop the wind," came Devon's equally grieved and distraught tone.

"Why would she do this?  Why? She disappears just when I was starting to find happiness! I want to know why... Devon!" The curly haired man shouted as he began to pace the room.

The grey haired leader folded his hands prayerfully in front of his face, his pointer fingers pressing against the bridge of his nose as he carefully considered any number of reasons for her surprise departure.

"And what about KITT?!" Michael raved on.

"My daughter April will be coming to help with Kitt's maintenance," Devon flatly confessed.

"Devon? I know she may be your daughter, but how could she ever replace Bonnie?" Michael sobbed bitterly. His strong hand moving from Devon's desk to massage his creased brow.

"What do...do I tell... Kitt?" Came Michael's heartbreaking whisper.

Devon cleared his throat and gently answered, "tell him anything you'd like, dear boy. He is going to figure it out sooner or later. I mean he is going to easily notice that Bonnie isn't coming around any more, so you might want to tell the ol' boy sooner or later."

"But Devon, I don't want to..." Michael started to protest before Devon interjected, "Michael! I don't very well care for what you want... I feel it is best you tell him now before someone else does. He will never forgive you, dear boy."

Michael let out an exasperated sigh knowing that Devon was right. He'd have to be the one to tell Kitt... that their beloved Bonnie was gone. Running a furious hand through his hair he quickly headed for the exit but he paused at the threshold of the door. Spinning to face Devon again Michael choked, "why... why didn't she...she tell us she was....was so unhappy here?"

Devon stammered in return, "wa...was she unhappy, Michael?" His gentle blue eyes misting with a controlled sheen of tears that refused to fall in the company of another.

Michael licked his lips and being unable to answer that question in it's entirety with an accurate answer drove him from the room and down the hall.
