"So, what is it like being the son of a billionaire?" There it is, that question.
Jeongguk smiled awkwardly, internally cringing as he repeated his rehearsed answer. "It's... overwhelming at times but I live my life as normally as I can with paparazzi watching my every move." He paired it with a graceful chuckle and could basically feel his hyung's hands patting him on the back.
"You did good!" Namjoon's voice echoes in his mind, aswell as his hearty laugh. It calms him down for the rest of the interview as the fidgeting of his fingers slows to a stop.
When it was finally all over and the camera's had cut off the interviewer, a tall black woman with beautiful green and brown eyes, walked over to him and showed off her pearly whites in a bright smile. "That was my best interview yet, you did really well and the copy should be up tomorrow!" They shook hands and went their ways. The interviewer probably to some boring office with piles of paper and Jeongguk to the convenience store on his street to buy an endless supply of ramen.
However he had to be quick about it. If his father or Namjoon or just anybody who worked under his father was to find out he'd be eating the cheap $1 ramen he'd probably lose any and all rights he's acquired over the years.
He shrugged on his puffy jacket and tightened the laces on his boots and he was off. But of course fate was not on his side. Namjoon's Mercedes was parked perfectly right outside the building.
The window rolled down, revealing Namjoon's driver. It baffled Jeongguk. The man couldn't drive but had a car and was the CEO's most trusted man.
"Hop in." With a groan, he climbed into the car just as paparazzi began to flood the streets. "Everything go well? Sorry I had to let you do it alone, you know I would've been there if I had the chance." He hums along with the elder's words as he shimmies into a comfortable position on the leather seats.
"'twas pretty straight forward. The interviewer was nice too." Namjoon was satisfied with the answer as he began to tap away at his phone.
"So...where is it you're taking me?" At that, Namjoon glanced towards the younger boy with a grin on his face. "Your original destination of course, your hotel room." Of course. Of course Namjoon had caught on.
He turned away from the older, sulking heavily as he did so. In a matter of minutes they had arrived at Jeongguk's very expensive looking temporary living arrangement. Jeongguk himself revolted the place, he didn't want to live in a suite on the top floor all on his own.
Before he knew it Namjoon was ushering him out of the door and towards the metal gates. Reluctantly, he swiped his card and pressed the code into the keypad. Then he walked in and watched and waited till Namjoon's car was out of eyesight to pull on his sunglasses and face mask and he was gone.
A smile itched its way onto his face before he could stop it as he strolled into the convenience store. It wasn't often he got to go to a Korean store but seeing as he was staying in Seoul for 2 months he had that privilege.
He picked out at least one packet of each ramen flavour and two packs of banana milk. Perfect.
Jeongguk skipped back to the hotel with a happy bounce to his steps. He got past the extensive security and found peace in the elevator stood beside a man dressed all in black. After glancing suspiciously at the other he told himself not to worry about it when he realised he wasn't getting off the elevator. The suspicious man was going to straight to the top, where only one suite sat, Jungkook's suite.
He eyes the man before he finally noticed the package that sat snug between the man's arm and hip. A sigh of relief slipped from his lips as the elevator slowed to a stop at his floor. The man turned to him with a grin on his face. "For a Jeon Jeongguk?" The smile was a little unnerving but he managed to shoot a grin of his own back.
"Yup that's me. Does it need a sign?" The man nodded his head in confirmation. "I just need to put this stuff down and I'll be right with you." His first mistake. Unlocking the door to the suite and leaving it open as he placed his food down on the table.
He turned around with a polite smile only for it to drop off his face when he came face to face with the man holding his "package". "Sorry kiddo." His second mistake was not struggling hard enough. He hit at the other's buff arm but to no avail, the tissue plastered onto his face stayed firm.
"The longer you struggle the longer this will take." The voice sang. What? What made the kidnapper think he wanted to be kidnapped?!
His eyes began to glaze over and his mind started to fog up. "There you go, that's it, just go down for a nap." Why the fuck is this man talking to me like I'm a dog? was Jeongguk's last thought as he surrendered to the darkness.
Jeongguk's awakening was definitely not a nice one. It was cramped, dark, hot and absolutely terrifying. A song he knew well was playing. Puttin' on the Ritz. His breath got heavier with panic as he patted around his pockets. Nothing. He lost himself with this panic as he screamed uncontrollably whilst banging his fists on the inside of the boot. "HELP! SOMEONE HELP ME! HELP ME! LET ME OUT!" His throat was scratchy and raw, his vision still blurry but he had to get out, to get back to his horrible suite, to his ramen and banana milk, to his Namjoon hyung, to where he belonged.
Tears rapidly leaked from his eyes before he could stop them. "HELP! HELP!" The music was getting louder, easily taking over his voice. So instead he began to beat at the taillight as hard as he possibly could. "LET ME OUT!" It wasn't breaking. It wasn't breaking. It wouldn't break. Jeongguk could feel a panic attack start to take over. "This can't be happening no no no! I need to get out! LET ME PLEASE LET ME OUT!" He was getting hysterical but the abductor in the front seat only continued to whistle along with the song.
That was when Jeongguk really broke down. His body shook with his harsh sobs and he could feel his vision start fading. He vaguely remembered the car slowing to a stop and the song abruptly stopping when he passed out for the second time.
