Zayn's POV
I stared up at the ceiling of my room while I was laying down. I recalled my conversation with Maya earlier today and that..that slap. I brought my hand to left cheek where she had slapped me. She was truly something.
It's a same she didn't easily agree to my proposal. She could have simply rejected but she decide to slap me. There's no way in hell I'm not getting revenge. I looked over at the clock which read 6:40 p.m.
I had made reservations at the Bistro Grande. I was supposed to compliment Maya, leave her a big tip and to show her that my deal was no joke and perhaps she would've agreed to my proposal seeing how kind I was but...
I just can't forget that slap, therefore there's going to be a change of plans. Poor Maya. She shouldn't have slapped me. She's going to pay for it.
I got up and walked over to my closet and pulled out a suit. Time to get ready.
Maya's POV
I quietly brought dirty dishes back to the kitchen and placed them at the counter of the sink. I was still nervous about Zayn and what he could possibly do.
I shouldn't have slapped him, I shouldn't have. I just hope he forgets about it and moves on with his life. I hope he forgets about me. I opened the doors of the kitchen and walked out. I stopped on my tracks and quickly turned around heading back in to the kitchen. Through the circular glass window on the door, I gazed at my nightmare before me.
Zayn was here along with another man. I felt my body start to tremble and my heartbeat began to quicken. I had to leave. I had to get out of here...but I couldn't. My shift wasn't finished until closing time.
I heard a loud bell behind and I turned around to face one of the chef's.
“Order for table 4 is ready!” he yelled.
I grabbed the two plates and took a deep breath. Helena opened the doors for me and I made my way to table four. I kept my eyes on table four and nothing else. All I had to do was ignore his prescence and I'd be all right.
“Enjoy!” I enthusiastically said to the two ladies at table four. I turned around and made my way to the kitchen without looking at table nine—where he was seated. I felt a hand wrap around my arm and I gasped as my pulse accelerated.
I turned around to face my boss, James. I sighed in relief but my heart was still beating uncontrollably.
“Maya! Go to table nine. They specifically requested to have you as their waitress. I'm so proud of you! Now hurry and go!” he said as he patted my back. I opened my mouth to protest but before I could say anything he left to carry on with the rest of his work.
I looked over at table nine where he was seated. He was drinking his overly expensive wine and had his eyes locked on mine. He put his glass down and rested his chin on his hand, slowly running his fingers over his scruff.
I took a deep breath and made my way towards his table. I looked away from him and focused my attention on the man seated in front of him. “Hello, welcome to Bistro Grande. Are you gentlemen ready to order?” I asked with a fake smile plastered on my face.
“Aiden, you can leave now.” Zayn spoke and the man—Aiden quickly got up and left without another word.
I still didn't look at Zayn. Instead, I turned around only to feel a tight grip on my wrist.
“Turn around.” He demanded squeezing my wrist and then letting go of it.
I slowly turned around and rubbed my wrist with my hand, “Y-yes, sir?”
Due to my anger I forgot that I still had to treat him with respect just like I did with the rest of the customers.
First mistake, slapping him. Second mistake, ignoring and disrespecting him. Shit.
He stood up and rested his finger tips on the table.
I refrained from looking in to his eyes and kept my eyes focused on the table cloth.
“I fucking hate it when people disrespect me. Do you know what the consequences are of disrespecting me?” He seethed.
I looked up at him for a split second and then back down. I shook my head in response.
I heard a small snicker and so I looked up at him. He had a sly smirk on his face.
He leaned in closer to me; too close for my liking. I was too scared to move back, my body felt frozen in place.
“I'll keep it simple for you. I ruin them.” He calmly said which made it even eerier.
With that, he leaned away from me with a stern expression on his face. He pushed past me and headed towards the entrance of the restaurant where James usually welcomed customers.
I let out a sigh and tried to ignore the fact that I just got threatened. I wiped a stray tear that escaped from my eye and headed back to the kitchen. At least work would help me get my mind off of things.
A few hours had passed and before I even knew it, it was closing time.
I grabbed my coat and bag from the staff room and headed out. Just as I was about to exit the restaurant I heard someone call my name. I turned around to face James coming towards me.
“Hey James, what's up?” I asked, slipping my hands in the pockets of my jacket.
James crossed his arms and took a deep breath. “Maya...” he softly mumbled as his gaze fell to the floor.
“W-what is it?” I worriedly questioned. “James..what happen?”
“Maya..you...you're fired.” he replied.
Zayn's POV
I placed a cigarette between my lips and lit it. I laid back on my chair and placed my feet on my desk.
Just about now Maya must be getting some bad news.
I wonder if she'll figure out that I was the one that got her fired. Her stupid boss, James, was so easy to buy. On top of that, he's scared of me which helped even more.
I took a long drag of my cigarette and blew out the smoke. This is just the beginning of Maya's consequences. I was slowly going to destroy her.
I was going to ruin her so much that she will be compelled to come knocking at my door and beg me to have sex with her for money. And I await that day.
I quickly dialed Aiden and told him to come to my office. He came in within seconds.
“How may I help you, sir?” he questioned with his arms to his sides.
“Make sure you keep an eye on Maya. She's going to look for another job but I want you to make sure she doesn't get accepted for any job. Got it?” Aiden nodded in response as I took another drag of my cigarette.
“Get me information about the owner of the building she lives in. I also want some contact information of the University she goes to. Someone who is in charge of expelling students.”
“Yes, sir. Is that all?” He asked, like always. I nodded in approval and crushed my cigarette in the cigar tray. I can already imagine Maya at my doorstep, soliciting for my aid.
Soon, very soon this imagination will turn in to reality.
