"Griffin! It's so good to see you!" Alice wrapped her arms around Griffin's neck, pulling him into a hug. Griffin hugged her back, enjoying the feeling of her in his arms.
"It's good to see you too." he smiled at her, taking her beauty in. He had driven to her flat to pick her up for their date. She was wearing a simple black dress and a pair of sandals. Griffin had on a pair of jeans and a button down shirt. He usually didn't dress up, but he wanted to impress her. "Are you ready to go?" he asked her, anxious to start their date."Yes, I can't wait to see what you have planned." she locked the door behind her and followed Griffin to his car. He pulled open the door for her and helped her in."I hope you like Indian food." he said to her as he got behind the wheel. "The one I'm taking you too has an amazing vegetarian selection. After that I was thinking we can go to the movies or if you'd like to go somewhere else we can."Alice smiled at Griffin, "Wherever you want to go I'll be OK with."Alice couldn't help but feel giddy. She was really starting to like Griffin. She hoped that this date would go well and that he would want to see her again. She already knew what she wanted. Griffin felt her eyes on him, he gave her a quick glance and smiled, "What's going on in that pretty head of yours?" Alice blushed, letting out a shy laugh, "I was just thinking how much I like you and how I am looking forward to more dates."Now it was Griffin's turn to blush, "I really like you too. What if you find out I eat like a slob, will you still want to see me again? Or that I'm rude to the waitstaff..."Alice shook her head, "I don't think you're like that. I can't see you being rude to anyone."Griffin laughed at that, "Have you heard our song 'Counterfeit'? I can be pretty rude..."Alice knew exactly what song he was talking about, it was a jab against an old business partner that had stolen from him. He hadn't stolen enough to take him to court over, so he decided to write a song about it. "You're mother should've swallowed you..." she laughed as she quoted one of the lyrics from it. "That cunt deserved it though.""Yes he did. I bet the dumbass doesn't even know it's about him. He's an oblivious twat."They were approaching the restaurant. Alice was still apprehensive about how his family would take it. She wanted to ask him about it, before her feelings towards him became stronger."Griffin, I was thinking.....""Uh oh..." Griffin teased.Alice smacked him in the arm, "You are rude!!" she giggled, "Seriously, I was thinking about your Mum and Dad.""What about them?" Griffin had an idea what she was thinking about, but didn't want to assume in case he was mistaken."Well, if this date goes well, and we decide to see each other...will your Mum and Dad be OK with it? I mean, I don't know how your Mum feels about me, and if she'll be OK with me being around your Dad."Griffin had thought of it as well, "I plan on talking to Dad on his own first. See if he can either talk to Mum himself or if maybe he can help me. At times I'm a bit blunt and I don't want to be that way with Mum. I love my parents, I love them dearly, but I can tell you right now that like it or not, I will have a relationship with you. They'll just have to deal with it." Griffin had also thought of something that he wanted to clear up with Alice, he hoped she wouldn't be upset with him once he asked her, he looked at her and sighed, may as well just come out with it, "Alice, darling...I have a question. Please be honest with me. You're not with me to get back with Dad, are you?"Alice didn't know what to say, she had never thought of that, she had no intentions on getting back with Bruce, "Griff, love...why would you even think that? Do you not trust me?"Griffin looked away from her, he felt like an ass, "I do. I do trust you. I know we've only known each other for a short while, but I'm sorry. I had to ask. I've been burned in the past by girls I thought wanted to be with me but they only wanted to be near Dad." he gave her a shy smile, "He is Bruce fucking Dickinson after all....and the fact that you had a relationship with him, makes it that much more complicated. I'm sorry..."Alice grabbed his hand and gave it a slight squeeze, she couldn't blame him for thinking the way he did, it had to be hard to be the Son of someone like Bruce. He had to question each friendship and relationship he had. Were they with him because they actually enjoyed him, or because of who he was."It's OK. I understand why you asked. I really do enjoy being with you, and I promise you, I no longer harbor any feelings towards your Dad. He'll be just that, your Dad."Griffin gave her a wide grin, "Perfect, thank you." he reached over to her and gave her a soft kiss on the lips, "Let's go eat. Im famished."
