I walked down the hallway, ignoring that I was late to my next class, Calculus. I honestly didn't care that much, considering I really hated math in general.
I turned a corner, not looking at where I was going and was greeted with my face smashing into someone else. I fell to the ground, my purse and book scattering across the floor. I rubbed my thigh, wincing at the sharp pain. I was definitely going to have a bruise later on.
I quickly got up and dusted off my black jeans, realizing that the person that ran into me was apologizing....and looking for his glasses. His head was bent down, but I saw the top of his dark curls and his well-formed body. I sighed, bending over and picked up his glasses and handed them to him.
"Here you go," I said as he reached for them.
"Thank you so much!" He replied, bending his head up while putting on his glasses. I had to catch myself from letting my jaw drop. Damn, this guy had really gorgeous green eyes!
He looked at me and blushed slightly. "I'm sorry for running into you."
I smile, then straightened myself. "No prob. I used to do that all the time when I was younger. Are you new here?"
"Yeah." I knew I never saw him here before. It wasn't often we got new faces at the school. "My name's John Corbin." Did I mention he was really good looking? I didn't realize I was staring hard at him until He was waiting for me to respond to him.
I blushed slightly, but quickly hid my reaction . "Corrie Fisher. Nice to meet you."
He smiled, then picks up his stuff on the ground. He looks at his schedule, and his face worked into a look of confusion. "Can't find my next class. It's... um...Calculus."
I smiled, feeling pretty lucky. "Well, what a coincidence. I'm heading to that class right now. But might I say, though, you're kinda going the wrong way."
His face flushed to a red color. I chuckled. "Come on, follow me."
He walked beside me, trying to hold small talk with me. I laughed and conversed with him as we walked to the class. But one thing I couldn't help was to check him out again. Yeah, he was kind of nerdy, but he looked good in that t-shirt and faded, hole ridden jeans. He had really nice features. And the surprising thing was that I noticed him checking me out too.
We finally reached Ms. Vernon's room, and I opened the door. Ms. Vernon was one of the youngest teachers, but she was great at her job. She was laid back when it came to tardies as long as you had an A in her class, but if you didn't, you better have your butt in your seat by the time class started. Today, she was wearing a flower dress with her auburn hair pinned up at the top of her head with a few pencils, and her hands were covered in chalk. She turned to me and smiled then noticed John behind me.
"Oh! You must be John!" She exclaimed as I walked to my seat at the table by myself. Our class was nice sized, but there was several tables that only had 2 to one, and lucky for me, no one wanted to sit beside me.
"Class, this is our new student, John Corbin, who moved from Canada with his father. He is the son of the well-known Farrah Corbin, the famous orchestra director of many of the music for films you hear today." Everyone said hi, and I noticed a few girls were checking him out. He smiled then looked at the teacher as she handed him a book and a syllabus of the class.
"Alright, I don't care where you sit, so please pick where you'd like to sit," She said as she turned back to the board. John sighed as he looked around the room for a seat. I saw some girls preparing to kick the other girl out of her seat, but then John started to walk towards me with a smile. He sat down in the seat beside me. "This seat taken?"
