meet & greets (kaylee)

It was the perfect day. The sun was up and shining, not a cloud in sight to ruin the day. I woke up at 10 am, stumbled downstairs, and started rummaging around for my breakfast. 

I didn't manage to find anything satisfactory so I just settled for a yogurt and some sunny-side-up eggs. 

"Alexa, play my happy playlist" " Ok, playing happy playlist - currently playing Holiday by Little Mix"

As the music blasted throughout my house, I danced around the kitchen while simultaneously trying to find a spoon (bc I'm lazy af and didn't want to do dishes). A small smile came over my face as I realized what song was playing next.

"Alexa, skip to the next song" "Ok, skipping to next song - currently playing Colour by MNEK featuring Hailee Steinfeld"

As Hailee's first few notes filled the kitchen, my roomate, Bobbie stumbled into the kitchen with a glazed-over look on their face. 

" What's happening? Why is the world so loud?" they mumbled, looking around the kitchen. 

(Music in the background slowly fades away)

Time Skip

We're on the way to San Deigo a couple days earlier to avoid traffic the week of SDCC. As we were driving, we looked to the side and saw a billboard for season 3 of Legacies with none other than the gorgeous, awe-inspiring Jenny Boyd on it (pretend they actually get good promo). 

Time skip again to the week of SDCC (bc I'm lazy)

We line up for the meet & greet with the cast of Legacies with VIP tickets. 

As we walk closer, the thoughts in my head quickly grow anxious.

What if I screw up or something and they think I'm a horrible person but hide it behind smiles?

What if I accidentally blurt out my long-time crush on Kaylee? 

What if something bad happens and I don't get to meet them? 

As we approach the cast, Bobbie nudges me forward with a small smirk on their face, almost as if taunting me to screw up in front of Kaylee. 

I quickly shake away the faint blush threatening to creep up my cheeks and turn to face Aria Shaghasemi first. 

Skip all the cast members until Kaylee bc I'm lazy

Every step closer I get to Kaylee my blush gets embarrassingly deeper until Bobbie pokes my cheeks and I snap out of my Kaylee trance. 

Kaylee's pov

I look over at my friends beside me, laughing and smiling at the first of our fans, named Bobbie and y/n I think?

As y/n turns around to face me a couple steps down, it was like the world stopped for a second.

Her e/c eyes, seemed to look into my soul, her h/c hair perfectly framing her face while cascading down in waves, and her face seemed to be sculpted by the gods themselves.

 Each curve, dip, turn, nook and cranny seemed to accentuate her perfectly and could rival the definition of perfection. 

I don't know what came over me at that moment, I was so confused. When I had kissed Lulu back in 2018, it was for show and I didn't think it would do anything to me, because I'm straight. But during the kiss I felt something crack open in my heart. I felt that same thing happen but stronger during my quick glance at y/n. 

Danielle, who was beside me noticed me looking (more like staring) at y/n and nudged me not-so subtly, breaking me out of my trance. "So, two fans in, already fallen for one?" she asked teasingly. I blushed and looked down a little embarrassed with a blush creeping up my cheeks. "Shut up!" I said while playfully shoving her to the side.

I was scanning the room for Bobbie when suddenly I felt a feather - light touch on my shoulder. 

I jump, startled and don't even look back before gritting out "If you did this Bobbie you're so dead after this I swear."

"I'm so sorry, I didn't mean to scare you. But, I'm not Bobbie." 

The voice behind me, familiar as it may sound, didn't sound like Bobbie.

I turned around to see that the person who I snapped at was none other than the one and only Kaylee Bryant. 

My eyes went wide, and then the realization hit me that I was standing in front of the Kaylee Bryant.

"I'm so sorry, I didn't mean to snap at you like that." I apologized quickly, but when I looked up at her face I saw nothing but amusement dance lightly across her eyes.

After Kaylee's amusement receded she pulled me in for a hug and slipped something into my hand. 

I just stayed in shock the whole time, with a very visible blush creeping up my cheeks and walked away after being given a forehead kiss by the brunette herself.

It was a backstage pass to meet the crew and cast of Legacies and inside the pass was a small piece of origami, folded into a swan. Inside the swan lay Kaylee's personal number and a small handwritten note. 

Today might just be the best day of my life.
