The Wrong Wolf And Witch: A Lumine Story

Chapter X

Narrator's P.O.V.

Kody had changed. Not into his "werepup" form, but no. This was different. It was... a werewolf.

Everyone looked up from the fight and at Kody, who was ready to fight. He immediately grabbed the weredog that bit him earlier, who was charging at him and threw him away.

Lumine sat there in the car and watched in amazement. 'So that's a werewolf, I knew there was something special about him...' he thought.

Kody turned around and walked up to the witch. He was determined that this fight is now over.

*Bang*

He felt a sharp pain in his leg, and blood started coming out. Someone in the crowd of people shot him.

The woman walked out from the shadows holding the gun.

"Why isn't anyone attacking the beast?" She said while reloading the gun. One of the people responded.

"If you can't tell, we have no chance of beating him."

"Well, you can at least try... if you capture him, you know you won't have to do this kind of jobs anymore...werewolves cost a lot of money you know?"

"Alright." The other weredogs shouted and transformed. They all surrounded Kody and slowly closed in. Aiden watched in the distance.

'I don't think he can take on all of them, at least until reinforcements arrive. I have to do something.' He transforms into a werewolf and runs into the crowd, ready to help his son.

Lumine's P.O.V.

I watch as both Kody and Aiden fight for me. I tried to get up off of the seat, put collapse back down. 'S-Shit, why am I so helpless. All I did was use a bit of magic, and I'm reduced to not being able to move.'

I watch as blood runs from my mouth, and how Kody is fighting for me. I feel a pull from my back as I am being dragged out of the car. "Kody!" I yell as I hit the ground, trying to run away. I see Kody run up to help me. The person noticed and threw me into the edge of the woods. The person transforms and proceeds to dog fight Kody.

Kody is trying to take all the weredogs at once. I don't think he can survive for much longer. I use what little strength I have left to create a small explosion, getting the wolves off of him.

I quickly drag myself into the woods so I'm not seen.

Kody's P.O.V.

I see something and then all the weredogs get pushed off of me. I look over by the woods there I think it originated. I see Lumine trying his best to blend into the night. I try to not make it obvious so I don't stare.

The weredogs for some reason begin to back down. They started to back away from me. I looked at dad and he just shook his head. I hear something faint in the distance, so I turn to look down the road. Sirens.

I begin to see the light of the police in the distance. I forgot the majority of the defense squad was on break this week.

They pull up and run out of the cars, blocking the people. The woman I first saw looked calm while her colleagues were frightened. I watched, surprised at her actions.

"Haha, you may have won now, but this will most likely be the last time. Lumine, I know your here! Don't get too attached, it's not gonna last for long..." and she began to run.

"Stop her." Dad yelled, having the police try to catch her. But then, she vanished. "They must've used a teleportation spell. She's probably very far by now."

I run up to Lumine, still in the edge of the woods. I transform back and pick him up. "T-thank...y-you." He barely made out. "No problem, we're friends after all." I watched as he smiled and his eyes shut.

I walk him up to the car. Aiden notices the condition he's in and helps me get into the car. I sit down next to him and pass out.
