It was a fair summer night in The City when Zim was locked away indoors watching tv with Gir. He remembered back to his and Dib's argument on Valentine's day earlier in the year and frowned. Things had become rather complicated between them to the point where neither understood their purpose with the other. They both had different ideas on what they were to each other. Zim stood up sluggishly and headed down to his underground lab.

When he descended into the lab, he went over to the monitor and stared into its darkness. He soon gave in and paused. He wanted to call the Tallest to check up on things. He then sighed.

"Give up," Zim told himself, "They don't wish to speak to you anymore... Enough of this dependence. You are better than this!" He groaned at himself and walked away from the monitor.

He immediately faced a world map that was placed up on the wall. He looked at the map and wanted to rip it down. He then took out his phone and called Dib. His disappointment grew when there was no answer. He tried calling again and received another request to leave a voicemail. It reminded him of when the Tallest would ignore his calls sometimes.

He nearly crushed his phone in his hand and sat in his work chair. He turned on his monitor and went into a few files to look at his plans of world domination. He squinted from the brightness of his mega monitor.

"I'll show you, My Tallest... I am capable of taking over the earth... I may have been dangerous to my people, but I will assure you that I will make up for-"

Zim stopped when Dib called back.

"DIB!~ I mean... gngngn oh whatever..." He answered the phone, "Hello?..."

"You called?..." Dib asked. Zim's work files fell to the floor when he crossed his legs in his chair.

"Dib! Why didn't you answer me the first two times??" Zim asked. His voice was pessimistic, but he was spinning in his chair.

"Oh... sorry... I was occupied with something..." Dib answered tiredly.

Zim stopped the chair and looked at the phone confused, "Like?..."

"Uh... I'll tell you later... someday... I dunno..." Dib said, "What do you need?..."

Zim groaned from another one of those answers, "I was just calling to...." Zim didn't have any excuse other than to stop himself from speaking to the Tallest, "I wanted to invite you over to my house tomorrow."

"...Alright..." Dib replied. Zim was a little shocked to hear that answer.

"You're not even gonna ask why?" Zim asked.

"Look, if you want me over there, then it must be for something important..." he said then yawned afterward.

"Oh.... okay then.... See you tomorrow," Zim said awkwardly. Dib gave an "mm hm" before hanging up. Zim's suspicion grew enough for him to leap out of his chair. He headed up to the surface level of his home. He looked at Gir on the couch before heading out.

"Gir, watch the house while I'm away," Zim demanded.

Gir waved goodbye before he left. Gir immediately darted toward the kitchen to create a monstrosity. Zim made his way down the street, rushing to Dib's house.
