Tyler

"Jake." He turned his head, looking at me. I smiled, running my hand over his head. Without him, I don't know where I would be.

"I was wondering when you would show up." I heard my sister hiss as I turned towards her. She was no longer my bratty little sister; she is a woman.

"I'm sorry for not stopping by last night." She shook her head while her eyes started to soften up.

"Can I hug you?" I nodded, preparing myself for the impact. Her arms carefully wrapped around me as I wrapped my arms around her. Holding her almost felt like home. The only person I felt at home with is Maggie.

"I'm so glad you're here. I've missed you so much."

"I've missed you too, little sis." Jake barked, making us pull apart, looking at him.

"And who is this?" She smiled as Jake moved to my side.

"This is Jake."

"Let's go inside." I nodded, following my sister into the house. Pictures scattered the walls, making me stop to look at them. One picture caught my eye in particular. Fallen and Maggie are on either side of a little girl kissing her cheeks. The little girl had her eyes closed, but her grin was telling me she was enjoying it.

"That's one of my favorite pictures." Fallen came over and stood next to me.

"Who is she?"

"Her name is Luna." Something flashed in her eyes as she turned back to the picture.

"As in the bar," I asked as knots started to form in my stomach.

"Something like that." I nodded, knowing she didn't want to talk about it any further. We walked over to the table, sitting down.

"I know I don't have the right, but I want to know if she's happy."

"She is." I nodded as Jake settled his head against my thigh. All I ever wanted was for Maggie to be happy even without me.

"She deserves it. So little sis, you ready to be married."

"Yeah, I can't wait for it to be finally here. Garret makes me happier than I could imagine. He's so good to me, Ty." Her smile said it all.

"When do I get to meet him?"

"Tonight, at Luna Moon."

"Mags." She shook her head.

"She's off tonight and is probably with her boyfriend, Dylan." I nodded, running my hand over Jake's head. She's moved on, and there was not much I could do about it.

After catching up with Fallen, Jake and I headed to the grocery store. Jake stayed by my side as we walked down the aisles.

"Momma, look doggy." I heard a little girl say, making me look down at Jake, who was looking for something to eat.

"Luna, no." My ears perked up, hearing the sound of her voice. Before I could match her face, the little girl had run into me.

"Doggy." She wrapped her arms around Jake's neck, giving him kisses.

"Luna, I said no. Now say sorry to Mr. Rollins." Jake turned the little girl sensing no harm. Maggie pulled the little girl into her arms.

"Sorry, Mr.," She pouted, turning back to look at Jake.

"It's okay. Next time listen to your mom, okay."

"Can I pet him?" Maggie shook her head as I smiled at the little girl.

"For just a second, he's a special dog."

"Why?" She frowned, looking him over.

"Tyler, I'm sorry."

"It's okay. He's special because he makes sure things are safe for me. He makes sure I'm okay." I smiled, letting them know it was okay.

"Cool." She smiled, stepping back closer to Maggie.

"It is." I smiled, looking up at Maggie. It's been almost four years, and she still manages to take my breath away.

"Say goodbye to Mr. Rollins."

"Bye, Mr. Bye doggy."

"She's beautiful, Mags."

"Thank you." She whispered quickly, taking the little girl's hand as she walked away.

"Mags is a mom," I whispered to myself. It took me a second to realize it was the same little girl from the picture. Only meaning Fallen knew everything.

Pulling up to the bar a few hours later. As much as I need to confront my sister, tonight is about her. Jake nudged my hand, trying to get me to relax.

"Alright, buddy, I guess it's now or never. I promise as we get home, you can get the biggest steak." He barked in appreciation as we got out of the truck.

Walking into the bar, Fallen was already here with Garrett. Next to them was her other best friend, Abby, and my best friend, Max. Seeing everyone together doesn't seem right that Maggie isn't here. I can't be the reason she's not here.

"Tyler, I'm glad you're here but not really." Abby smiled as she noticed me. Max turned his head and smiled as I walked over.

"Well, look who finally showed up."

"I know, I know, but I'm here now. It's good to see you, Max." I hugged them before turning to my sister.

"Tyler, this is Garret. Garret, this is my brother Tyler."

"Hey, man, nice to meet you."

"You too, I've heard a lot about you." He shook my hand as Max came over, handing me a beer.

"Can I borrow our boy for a minute?" Max asked as I nodded my head, following him over to the bar.

"You and Abby married, right?" I smirked as he shook his head. He's been chasing Abby since we were in high school, but she hasn't given him the time of day.

"She's cracking, I can feel like."

"I'm sure she is. I'm glad some things never change."

"It's weird you're not here with Maggie." He shot back, making me groan.

"Word on the street is she has a boyfriend and has a kid at that. She's moved on, and I hope she's happy." He nodded, taking a swig of his beer as I did the same.

"I'm not going to lie. You destroyed her when you left. She's slowly putting herself together. Maybe one day you can work it out." I nodded, looking over at Fallen as she smiled at Garret. I longed to know that happiness again.

"What are you two talking about?" Fallen asked as she walked over.

"Nothing much just catching up."

"Uh-huh, please talk to Garret."

"I will just need to check in with my best bud first."

"Okay fine."

"Why didn't you tell me the little girl was Mags' daughter?" I blurted out before I could stop myself. Fallen froze as if I caught her in a lie.

"How did you know?" She whispered yelled.

"The little girl ran into me in the store. She said mom and Maggie walked over. I put two and two together."

"I didn't want to upset you." I nodded.

"I'm sorry I didn't want to have this conversation tonight."

"Everything okay?" Garret asked, walking over to them.

"Yeah, we're okay. So Garret tells me what you do."
