After completed his secondary school education he was admitted to study financial accounting, though he found numbers fascinating and always struck by it, he loved calculating and sensitizing the importance of numbers in life; as well as predicting and forecasting financial outlook of any activities, this gave him the courage needed to study this particular program.
His first year was smooth, second was also smooth and somehow outstanding because he finally got the recognition for his smartness and brilliancy, he was young and handsome, dressed fittingly and poignant.
Still, at 22years, he was charming with a great sense of humor, some likes his looks, some his dressing why some just the sound of his voice hypnotized them.
In his third year at the university, one night he was running late from the library to his resident.
He had recently moved from the campus hostel to one of the housing estate two miles from the University, he ran into Madam Gloria, she was the university economics lecturer, at 35years she had her Ph.D. and now at 38 a professor of economics, she somehow liked his attitude and composure in her class, this made her paid frequent attention to him in class, He also admired the young professor and never want to miss her class.
Today he was just surprised to stumble upon her at this time of rush.
She offered to give him a lift to his place which he gladly accepted and hopped in the front seat beside her.
On the way, he thanked her many times, they had little chat then she parked and told him she had something she wanted to tell him.
He was surprised so he asked her to go on, she withdrawn her hand from the steering wheel and looked at him dead straight with flitting eyes and grabbed his penis, he froze and immediately
he said
“Please stop”
She told him
“I want you to fuck me”
This was a sudden shock and immediately he panicked, he didn’t think twice he realized the arduous situation he is in.
What we always hear is a male lecturer coercing students for sex, who will believe me if I told them one of my female lecturers want me to have sex with her.
He took her hand off his penis and told her
“Am tired maybe another day”
She gave a fainted look and couldn’t expect a nobody like him could refuse and ridiculed her, she just liked him and adores everything about him, he must be think am playing she hissed.
She looked at his eyes again and said “no” then drag his shirt, this is getting into a squabble to free himself from the wrapped of Madam Gloria, he tried many times to suppress her in controlling herself and that he was in no mood for anything like that, when she seems not to listen; Gabriel pushed her away and she hit her head on the dashboard, he opened the door and ran home With the hope not to speak about it because no one would believe, he didn’t bother to check if her injury was light or badly.
The next day, he was arrested for assaulting and attempting to rape one of the school lecturers, he tried to explain himself but none of the policemen listened to him at the station.
His admission was revoked and after 3weeks in the police cell, he was released because Madam Gloria didn’t want to press any more charges or go to court, this didn’t spark any confusion at all, the police D.P.O told him that he should be thanking God the woman possesses the heart of forgiveness,
He sighs “forgiveness my ass” he mumbles to himself
Upon his release she was outside waiting for him and right in front of the police she said
“You have a bright future, next time, don’t do what you did”
He hissed and walked away from her to his hostel to pack his things since the report has gotten to him that his admission has been revoked, he found no reasons to stay behind and be washed with eyes of shame around the campus while his abuser was seen as the victim.
When he got to his residence, he met two of his fellow student neighbor and with disappointment they explain how the incident is all over the campus, he also explains what happens to them and his other friends who came to visit him after hearing that he was released, only a few of them believed him.
He shook his head and looked into their eyes, they were confused he acknowledged that; he was just bewildered the school board took the decision because the lecturer is one of their own and he had no evidence to claim he did nothing wrong since Madam Gloria had a scar to indicate the injury sustained in a struggle between him and her in the car which he gladly claimed he pushed her because she didn’t want to leave him or allowed him out of the car.
He didn’t care anymore about the story she feeds them at the police state or to the other school lecturers and board about the incident, he doesn’t want to see her face again.
He packed his things and went home, he explained to his parent exactly how it happened, they advise him not to speak about it again because the incident brings shame to their family, this made him marvel about his action again and again because he was sure he tried to escape an abusive and now his parent thought it brought shame to them.
He listened to them anyway and the following year he wrote another entrance examination into one of the universities in Lagos, where he finished four years later with a second class upper degree in the financial account.
