The Party

The emcee called aunt and uncle to give their opening remarks and to introduce the invited elites-to-be. They greeted everyone and the joy that radiates from them can be seen by anyone. They always show a kind aura which is rare for multi-billionaires.

"To officially begin this event, as we all know, we would be introducing to you the chosen elites-to-be for the upcoming school year" aunt Kerry said.

"Every year we invite every student who showed a magnificent brain power that ranks them higher than a normal student on their age to fully enhance the fantastic gift they were given." Uncle Scott looked at us. "There were only 9 outstanding students who we think are really gifted. These students came from all over the world and we are most delighted to have them come at suck a short notice."

"Let us all give them a round of applause" aunt Kerry said and smiled at us and joined the audience clapping.

"Mr. James Anderson. Ms. Samantha Blake.
Ms. Luna Granger.
Ms. Satella Han.
Mr. Benson Katwe.
Mr. Lelouch Mooney.
Ms. Pinky Pastil.
Mr. Harry Sybill.  And Ms. Rui Tanaka." As the emcee called our names, we each walked to the raised platform and shook hands with the Board of Directors and faced the crowd. They were talking smiling at us with awe and clapping like there was no tomorrow.

"Please enjoy the night ladies and gentlemen." And that officially started the banquet. Aunt Kerry walked up to me and ushered me to one of the BOD. "You have to meet a lot of people darling. This will help to in the years to come. And for formality's sake, you have to meet of BOD, and they will have to introduve you to your new classmates to be."

"Hello Ms. Tanaka, fancy meeting you here after all those years. I didn't recognize you at first , you have grown to be a gorgeous lady." It's uncle Vernon and I a. Not used to him speaking so formally.

"It's nice to see you here too, Mr. Vernon. And after all these years you have been so formal that I thought it wasn't you at all" I smiled cheekily and shook his hands.

"My, my. You've changed my little darling." He chuckled and looked at his side. "This is Mr. Lelouch Mooney, he was at my recommendation"

We should have and also aunt and uncle's. They eyed him up and down and smiled at him.

"I've seen you have never changed your taste Vernon. He was just so like you when we first met" uncle Scott exclaimed.

" Yeah.. maybe. And also I think that it was just my old age that's making me this formal." He scratched his head and made a little bow. " I've seen that you have never been wrong about  this young lady considering her past records. You really know when to pick it the perfect time and it was always the best one."

They just smiled and introduced me to the BOD who were somehow called the 'handlers' of the elites. And I've learned that Satella Han was recommended by Miranda Spencer. She's one of the people my mom consider as worthy to be in her circle of friends. She tried to suck on Miranda and she succeed and that made me life a more living hell than it was.

After all the little chats that we had, we decided to have some dinner. As I made my way to the buffet table, aunt Kerry pulled me to our table saying that everything for us elites are being served and I just sat down with them.
All elites got to sit with their handlers.

" I didn't know you were the one who recommended me aunt, uncle. I wanna thank you for it."

"It was nothing dear. Just like what your uncle said awhile ago, we just wanna hone your skills and intelligence, we don't want it to go to waste, don't we?"

"Actually at first I wanna refuse it. I mean, I don't feel that I deserve it baby I am not doing anything for it. And as soon as dad figures out that I don't quite agree with him, he abandoned any thought of it." I confessed and felt that ain't Kerry's hand covered mine.

" We know what you were going through darling. We know it is tough but always remember, he loves you and no dad can't unlove his daughter just Beavis she disagree with him."

"I know aunt. But say I refused it. What will you do? Knowing you two, you won't easily give up" I said chuckling.

"Oh we got a lot of back up plans. Just like offering you a marriage invitation rather than school invitation?" Uncle days casually.

"You are kidding me right now, right?" I frowned at them but they just both chuckled. "Oh my goodness. You are insane. You know I won't choose any of it if it's really come down to that"

They both laughed or loud and I saw that we are getting a lot of attention. People are whispering too but they are just laughing their heads off.

"Hey what happens to the two of you?" They both stopped laughing loud but still can't contain laughing now and then." Should I take you two to the mental hospital?"

It was Mr. Steve Smith. I know him too but we're not that close for me to call him uncle.

"What did you tell them that made them this happy?" Uncle Vernon said suddenly appearing at my side.

" I just said that if they offered me a marriage invitation or school invitation, I won't accept either then they just laughed like that." Then almost immediately almost all the people heard it laughed. I frowned at them.

" You still don't like him do you?" Uncle Vernon asked me.

" I don't know who you were talking about. I'm sorry."

" Goodness! My son will be disheartened by this. No one has ever rejected him like this." Aunt said wiping a happy tear away.

"You mean that arrogant and bully son of yours aunt? I really don't like his guys"

"You're really one of a kind. You were not like Pinky Pastil. Right pinky?" The girl blushed and he suddenly looked at Miranda and whispered to me. "Miranda's girl is the most obsessed with him. Good luck"

After the 'fiasco' died down, we ate our dinner with light hearted when muy phone suddenly rang. I answered it right away when I saw it was Michael, my boyfriend.

" Yes hon? Anything wrong?"

"I just wanna inform you that Mikee's got colds and I brought him right away at the hospital but they say that it's nothing serio---"

" Why did you just tell me now? I mean his just a baby hon. What if he had complications?"

" Calm down hon. That's why I don't want to bother you in the first place. You had your exams. He's okay for now. All's been taken care of. He just wants to talk to you" Michael's voice fainted and a little voice saying broken mama was all I can hear.

"Is my baby okay? Don't worry Mama's on t
her way, okay?" Then I ended the call and face aunt uncle and they are wide-eyed. " I don't have time to explain but I have to ho, I'm sorry"

They just nodded then stared at me as I stood up and walked out. I hurriedly gone to the elevator telling the man at the door to call the reception to take my car out.

I drove at full speed and didn't mind parking my car for the dreadful thought of seeing baby Mikee on the hospital filled me.
