Sunday went by faster than I had expected, I spent the day binge watching Netflix and doing my homework. Athena didn't talk to me all day on Sunday but I think she's finally starting to get over her grudge. Today is Monday which means I can finally see my friends again and find out how the party went.
I'm just not ready to see Harry today. It's just something about him that gives me a bad feeling and I still can't shake the dirtiness he made me feel on Saturday when he kissed my knuckles. At least he's only in my history and study hall and he can't really talk to me in history so I just have to worry about study hall.
The first 5 periods went by faster than usual and then I was making my way up from yoga to history. When I walked in Harry was already sitting down at his desk his eyes focused on the notebook in front of him. I walked to my seat and he glanced up at me as I sat down. I gave him a small smile but he just ignored it and went back to his notebook.
For some reason I felt a bit hurt as to why he was ignoring me but another part of me was happy that he wasn't going to be bothering me. The bell rang and the teacher got up to start talking. We're currently learning about the Holocaust and how it factored into immigration to America.
"Okay everyone please find a partner and once you find them come up to me and I'll give you an essential question to answer." The teacher announced at the end of her lesson and I felt my blood run cold.
I always hated working with partners because I didn't like people using me to get a good grade because I'm usually the one that does all the work in the end. And I also didn't like the fact that I'm most likely going to get stuck with Harry. I got up out of my seat and headed over to Louis to see if he wanted to work with me.
"Hey Louis, do you want to be my partner?" My tone was a bit higher pitched and girly than usual.
"Oh sorry Hope, I'm already working with Zayn. Maybe next time love." He gave me a sympathetic smile and I just smiled back at him and muttered an okay before I went back to my seat seeing as everyone was paired up but Harry and I.
"Hope." My head snapped up at the voice of my teacher.
"Yes ma'am?"
"You're going to be partners with Harry, okay?" Before I got the chance to respond Harry spoke up.
"I don't want to work with her." My jaw dropped at his rudeness and my cheeks flushed in embarrassment. We were perfectly fine on Saturday and now he's acting like a complete dick.
"It's okay ma'am I can work by myself it's not a big deal." I walked up to her desk to grab my essential question and she handed me a second one to give to Harry. She gave me a small smile and I returned it before heading back to my desk.
I handed Harry the paper and he just ignored me. I got to work to answer my question but I was stumped. My question was "What was the Judenrat?" She didn't go over this in the lesson and if she did then she briefly mentioned it.
I started flipping through my notes trying to find an answer. I even went back to the last unit to see if it was mentioned. I started getting frustrated so I started writing down a random answer. I heard a chuckle and looked over to see Harry staring at my answer laughing.
"What." I snapped.
"Your answer is completely wrong. Did you not write down what the Judenrat was?" He was being an ass again.
"Obviously I didn't write it down if my answers wrong, so what's the answer Einstein?" Harry chuckled again as I glared at him waiting for the answer.
"The Judenrat was a council of Jews appointed by the Nazis in each Jewish community or ghetto. It's not that hard of a question." He smirked at me and spoke up again
