White
That's all I saw. A white room and I was wearing white clothes. How original. You'd think I'd be surrounded by fire and brimstone, not a white room with its white walls. Before I could even find the time to explore the 6 foot by 6 foot empty room, there was a knock at the.. at the... wall? I looked around everywhere but there was no door anywhere. The knock got even louder the second time a round, like they were mad at me but hey I'm the one whose locked in a room with out doors. When they knocked for a third time I got fed up, and knocked back.
I waited for a couple minutes, but nothing happened.
"Hello?" I finally asked, "Anyone home?" It was so quite that I could hear my heart beat. "Ugh I'm going more insane then I already was." I through my hands up in the air frustrated with life at the moment.
If I was dead then this is going to be it for the rest of eternity, maybe they gave me an invisible mute room mate who can only communicate through knocks. That would be-
KNOCK KNOCK KNOCK
"OH MY FUCKING GOD WHAT DO YOU WANT?!?!?" I screamed at the top of my lungs, just hopping that the person would come out and I could beat the snot out of them for annoying me in the after life.
Suddenly the blank white room wasn't so blank anymore. A door appeared in front of me, hesitantly I took the handle. It wasn't warm like I thought it would be to I yanked open this god awful door before it magically disappeared again.
Slowly I put my head into the next room over, it was pretty plain. I walked over to a small desk in the middle of the room. Sitting down in front of it gave me a weird feeling in the pit of my stomach, like I had been here before. I wiped away a thin layer of sweat from my forehead.
Knock knock.
This time I was confused, the knocking was coming from behind the door I just came from, and unless there really was an invisible person in there with me there shouldn't be any knocking.
"Come in?" I say slowly.
The door open revealing a women, she wasn't very tall but she made up for it in her weight. She looked like a mix between a mother figure and a strict business women. With out saying a word she sat down in the chair on the other side of the desk. I watched her closely, making sure to keep my guard up. I didn't know what she was up to.
"Are you Thorn?" She clears her throat and shuffles around a couple pages carefully. When I didn't answer she looked up at me. "Are you Thorn?" She repeated.
I slowly nod, "Where am I?" She looks back at the document she was previously sorting.
"You ask me that every time dear," She states, not answering my question. "This time you have three options instead of two, how exiting." She doesn't take her eyes off of paper she's holding.
"What do you mean?" I ask
"Well usually when you come here you get two choices, the first is to leave and officially end your life, and the second is a redo. The last choice is-"
"What do you mean redo, do you mean I get to go through my life again and change things. Like this time I'll be nicer to Laughing Jack, and I won't kidnap anyone, and I'll be a better person and-"
"And this time I'll spend more time with my family before they're gone. So on so forth, I hear this every time you come through here. Now if you let me finish, your last option is to go back to where you expired and continue," She pauses looking up at me, no doubt making sure I'm still listening. "Though you won't be able to use your powers until you befriend the ones that wronged you."
I frown, that wasn't going to be easy. "What happens after I end my life?" I ask shakily.
She finally looks up but she doesn't say anything. I decided not to push it and keep my mouth closed. "So what do you chose?" She asks taping her fingers against the desk.
"I chose to go back." I sigh
"Back to the beginning or to where you were last?" She asks, at this point I can tell that see's mad or least pissed.
"Back to where I was last." I whisper. She nods and writes something in the paper. I wait wondering what I'm supposed to do.
"Thorn," I look at her and she hands me the paper that's been in her hands the entire time. "Give this to the man when you go through the door." I go to ask her what man, but she gives me a look saying I shouldn't so I don't.
I take the paper from her and stand up. She looks towards the door with a reassuring smile, I smile back and slowly makes my way to the door.
I'm afraid, I never lived a single day without my powers and now I have to go without them but also become friends with the people that murdered me. I wonder if I could slip by without become they're friends, or maybe just be some of they're friends.
Sighing I finally open the door to find that the room I was once in has vanished, it's now much bigger and it black not white. I look around for a few minutes before I remember I have to give this document to a man. I spot him in a far corner, my feet were going just as fast as my heart. I finally made it there and I handed him the paper.
"Miss Thorn I see you've had a good trip so far." His voice was like molasses on a warm day, and he looked like it too. I took in every little feature as he scanned over the single page, from his long defined noes to his plump lips. "Everything seems to be in order, have a good trip back to earth."
I nodded as he opened the door right behind him, before I knew it I was standing over my own body.
