A little wide eyed, frizzy haired girl sat on her mother's lap. The mother was dazzling, as beautiful as she had been years ago. Her straight blonde hair was let loose in a messy manor, seeing it was the end of the day and all. Her kind eyes watched as the girl held the book out to her again.

"Come on, PLEASE read it again!!" The child pleaded. The mother looked at her little girl with an amused look in her eyes.

"Alright Thorn!" She said with an amused tone, as she rubbed the girls hair. Slowly she took the book out of Thorns hands, like it was something precious.

The End

Once upon a time there was no such thing as magic. People imagined things, scary things, cute things, and amazing thing. But then The End changes it all.

The drawing were all quite silly, and light hearted. All of kids and their parents playing out in a back yard with there dog. All of it was done in an almost pastel colouring, but when the page is turned it become more sinister.

It started with almost insignificant changes. Like peoples hair would change colour, or people would shrink.

There were red over tones, even though if you were first reading it you would barely notice it. It was pretty much the same picture other than a bit of distortion.

The more people who took notice, the changes became more extreme. They became deadly too. It had started scaring people, to the point of murder.

The changes in the book became more crude, the fathers face was no longer there, the mothers arms had grown large metal spikes. The red was more prominent. The three tiny children's faces had morphed into ones of fear. They were no longer having fun.

Kids ran from home as their parents had begun to kill and consume their kids. The environment had adjusted to the changing world as well.

There was only one kid left. He was running from the 11 foot man, and the women who was drenched in blood. They used to be his parents. They used to love him. The field had turned a bright red, no longer grass but what looked like coarse mangled fur. The trees hand turned into boney arms. The sky had turned a bright red.

The Earth shook, the sky would rip open, the mountains screamed, clouds ate airplanes, buildings . The world was changing, everyone said it was the end.

The buildings had realistic eyes where ever there was a window, the clouds were a stained red, dripping blood like rain, there was still a bit of the fluffy white though. Chaos. That's what it was, pure chaos. The gorey illustrations, didn't bother Thorn. She was giggling like a maniac, she always did when this book was read.

This progressed until the point were the world had to start a new. On the very last day the sky opened up, reviling a terrible truth. It was sent to destroy all, it was it's sixth time doing so. It didn't destroy all though, it left some of that strange magic behind. The end of one world had stated the beginning of a new world.

     The last picture was of nothing, it was just black, with the words;

The Beginning

"And that is the end of the book darling, time to go to bed." Thorns mother looked lovingly at her.

"But mum, what happens after the end of the story?" This was a question that was asked regularly, but it was never answered. But this time there was something different, something sinister lurking it the air. The older women looked around, almost with a frightened look in her eyes.

"I can only tell you this once, your not allowed to repeat it until you have your own child." She sighed and rubbed her forehead, "What happened after was that this world was created. The magic that was created in the end of days carried on over to the people here. That's the reason we are, and do you remember when I told you the story of the slender man?" Thorn nodded her head vigorously. "Well that's why he's here too. Do you get it?" The women asked.

"Oh yes I do mum." Thorn said in a quite voice.

"Now it's time for you to go to bed." She said as she tucked Thorn in. "I'll see you in the morning, don't worry I'll make chocolate chip pancakes." She smiled and kissed Thorns head. Slowly she got up and left, Thorn happily fell asleep waiting for those pancakes.  But she never got her pancakes.
