12 YEARS LATER

"I still don't know why we have to go to this poopy boarding school, Mr. Taylor already taught us everything." Minori groaned.

Hiroyuki gasped, "don't call it poopy, I bet the school is beautiful."

The twins were packing for a boarding school. While both of them had knowledge for eons, the mother decided to send them away for safety reasons. At first, this was an idea proposed a friendly witch, Mr. Taylor, and this idea was opposed by Chizu, but after some talking and reasoning, Chizu realized it was the best idea for them.

You'll be back sooner than you know it. Was what she said to the two. Like their mother, they refused, but they later agreed after seeing their mom tear up from stress.

Minori rolled his eyes at his brother. "I don't know why mom won't just get jobs or something. There's no need to send us to a different continent."

Hiroyuki nodded. "Yeah, it seems excessive, but we'd be seeing our origin country!"

Both boys were half-Japanese. Their mother was born and raised in the country, and moved to the U.S. for college. There, she met their father, who was a Canadian exchange student who's parent's lived in France. All that Chizu told the boys is that they split up, but there was obviously more to that story.

They were going to a boarding school for Naturals, a.k.a., Supernaturals.

"And you know what else is in our home country?" Minori questioned jovially.

Hiroyuki looked at him with a bored look, "what."

"Demons! And half of them will be in our school."

"That's an overestimation, I'd say abou-" Hiroyuki tried to correct.

"Hiro, be quiet."

"Alright."

Naturals are practically any human-like being that isn't a human. Or a supernatural being that has some sort of human-like form. From things like angels and demons, to things like faries and shapeshifters, those are all considered Naturals.

Angels and demons as some would expect, don't get along. Demons are seen horribly in Angel culture, and visa versa.

And no, angels don't scream and pull out a cross and pearls when they see a demon, that's pathetic.

Most of the time angels tend to leave the area, and if a demon challenges them, they fight till one has tapped out or died. Only few leave with a truce.

Minori and Hiroyuki are angels, neither of them taking their father's human structure. And with there being no father figure-- maybe Mr. Taylor-- growing up, they grew up nothing but angels.

They are innocent, not ignorant.

"Angels! Come downstairs!" Their mother called. The two instantly stopped packing and clambered down the steps, even angels get competetive.

The twins stood next to each other in front of their mom who had just pulled some cookies out of the oven, she smiled at her two boys. "Let's talk."

The boys nodded and sat down, primarily focused on the cookies.

"I know both of you think it's unnecessary for me to send you to Japan, but you will only be exposed to more evil and I don't want that for you."

Gabriel, chewing a cookie spoke. "But we're strong enou-"

"Mino it's not a matter if you're strong enough to protect you, your brother, or me. I would rather you not have to go through this crap at all." Their mother was frustrated. Frustrated enough to the point where she said crap, this word has only heard by the twins one other time from their mother, and they weren't even supposed to be there.

Both boys looked up at their mom in shock. "Excuse my language. But it's just- I- I just want you two to be safe- and y'know Mr. Taylor can only keep telling the school board he wants to move up grades to teach just so you guys can be in his class. And demons are coming after- I mean..."

Did they hear that right.... demons... that was a word their mother refused to speak.

"Mom, who are demons coming after?" Angelo asked, a bit of their home language coming out.

Their mom started tapping her foot. "Babies..." She couldn't lie. "They've been trying to come for us for years, since you were kids."

"And you're just telling us now!?" Gabriel gasped.

"Why would I? So you can live in fear? So you both can't have normal childhoods? So you can't feel safe in your own home?" Their mother's voice cracked at the end, her voice getting weak.

The two didn't know what to do.

"I can't fail as a mother, I-I can't fail as an angel. I can't fail at protecting you. But it only gets worse... they never leave us alone. God knows I've tried." Chizu was tearing up. "Even before you were born, certain demons have hated me. When they found out I married a human, and was having kids... They... they tried to murder you."

She got silent again.

"Your father left because he couldn't handle getting hunted when he probably just wanted to go to the store. He didn't want that. So, when we got divorced, he still paid for everything, he just moved away. But, those awful demons..." She got choked up again. "They murdered him... and showed me a picture... of his-"

"Mom don't finish it." Gabriel and Angelo hugged their mom tightly. She cried ugly tears and grasped onto her sons as if it was the last time she'd see them.

"You're going to be 'adults' soon. You're probably going to want to explore the world. But the second you turn eighteen... they'll look... they will tear this house apart. I'd rather you be as far away as possible."

"You aren't gonna be safe, ma!" Angelo exclaimed.

Chizu shook her head, "I'll be in Japan shortly after you do, I just have a few things I need to take care of. And if they do burn this house down, I'm going to be fine."

They didn't know exactly what that meant, but they were too worried about their mother's mental state.

"Mr. Taylor will be on the flight with you to make sure you won't reveal your auras if there are other Naturals on the plane. That'll be a familiar face.."

After the small breakdown, she got back to explaining simple things, a few mannerisms that they may or may not have already known. And in a few days, they'd be on their way to Japan.

---

"Now I know why they never allowed us to have friends." Angelo sighed, continuing their packing.

"And why she still walks us to school." Gabriel added, throwing two pairs of socks into a suitcase.

"And why Mr. Taylor was so keen on making us hide our auras even in front of other Naturals."

Yes, it explained a lot of things.

Angelo sat in a chair. "Do you think that's why mom and Mr. Taylor call us by our Japanese names in private, and in front of anyone else, it's Angelo and Gabriel."

Gabriel foled a shirt. "Why do you think that?"

"Because... mom said dad gave us our English names. She's said before she hates most English names, but still allowed him to give us the names. She most likely wanted extra protection.

Gabriel, or Minori tilted his head, "I guess that makes sense."

The angels continued to place clothing into multiple suitcases for the rest of the day.

??? - A FEW DAYS LATER

"What do you mean you can't find them!?"
