"Heya, Mole!"
"What's up, mouse?"
The two boys used their nicknames for each other. Pete called Len 'Mouse' as he always spoke so quietly. Pete tried to convince him to be more loud and upbeat but Len never really took it to heart. He did, however, find himself growing more accustomed to Pete.
Pete was known as 'Mole' for a simple reason: He was blind. Luckily, he was always blind, so he could never really miss colours and such.
"My parents are moving out soon. I wanted to say my goodbyes." Len said, quieter then usual.
"Oh. I'm going to miss you. Where will you be going?" Now Pete was as quiet as him.
"I don't know. But I wanted to show you something. Well, figuratively." Len said the last part with a chuckle before stiffening again.
"Oh? What could it be?" Pete said with a soft smile. It was contagious, as Len was now smiling as well.
"You know how I never let you touch me?" Questioned Len. Of course Pete knew. Everytime he asked he could practically feel Len stiffen.
"Yes, I do. Why?" Pete asked, although he already knew.
"Well today is the day you get to finally feel what I look like!" Len said, much louder with cheeriness that was almost tangible. "Just lay your hand on the ground."
"What?"
"Just humour me, Petey."
And so, Pete laid his hand face up on the cool grass, like from the shade of the tree he was sitting under. Then he felt... something. A small, almost insignificant pressure was put on his finger. Curious, Pete started to put his other hand out. He began to to run his hand over the small thing. The small thing ran from his finger to something slightly bigger. It was almost shaped... human. He felt the breathing and the heartbeat and everything. Suddenly, Pete's eyes widened and pulled back from it.
No. From him.
And out of nowhere, a laugh more joyous and heartfelt than Len had ever managed rung from him.
"Maybe we will meet again, Mole." Len said as Pete heard rustling from the grass.
"Hopefully we will, Mouse." He whispered.

Just a little oneshot that came to mind.
Anyway, first off, I wanted to say sorry that I've been away for a while.
Secondly, I'm sorry that this wasn't the story I promised. I kept trying to thing of how to write it, but it was like a puzzle with pieces missing and all of them having 3 flat sides. Also, the other story I mentioned is just bouncing through my mind like a screensaver, but it hits the corner every time, and drew my attention towards it.
Third thing, I made it to 10 chapters, hooray!
Finally, I want to thank you all for the almost 2,000 reads and 88 votes, it means a fucking lot to me. (You though you could get through one of MY stories without a curse word? Think again, bitch.)
Anywho, uhhhhhhhh... Ya like Jazz?
