James

It had been just a day since my date with Evelyn and in my anticipation, I visited her home. My heart dropped once I noticed the crowd that surrounded her home. I took to the tops of buildings to get a better look.

Havana royal guards roamed the ground of her home, there were broken glasses and most terrifying at all the blood on the door.

I hid atop the roofs to gather any bit of information and what I discovered made my blood boil.

"Torres has the girl, word is she has ties to some dangerous people. Torres has her in for questioning." one of the guards said.

The other one was baffled "The ball is tonight as well."

The other nodded.

"Master Prins will be there tonight too, all the way from Kingston."

"Torres has a lot on his plate wouldn't be surprised if he added screwing the pretty thing to his plate."

The other one let out a hearty laugh before they walked away from each other. I wanted to take them out then and there for even suggesting such an act.

Two of my targets in the same place tonight, they have Eveyln and I wasn't sure why. I had taken the proper precautions to make sure we weren't seen together.

I knew this was a trap to capture assassins but I couldn't let anything happen to her.

My head swarmed with terrible possibilities as I entered the tavern. Kenway perked up as I walked in and sat down next to him.

"Ahoy Jim, how was your date with 'the one'? Did your night have a happy ending?" He grinned mischievously.

I rolled my eyes at his stupid question.

"What's going on Kidd? Spit it out, mate." Kenway nudged me and handed me a pint.

"I'm going after Prins. That's it. End of discussion." I said as I took a sip of the cold liquid.

Kenway slammed his mug down "I can't let you do that mate, not until I have the sage."

"There you go Kenway! Always thinking for yourself! They have her, they have Evelyn!" I exploded, Kenway was at a loss for words.

All I thought of was Evelyn and how scared I'm sure she was. I had to protect her at all costs, no matter what it meant.

"It's a trap James, they know." Kenway suggested.

I shook my head "I don't care, Edward, I have to get to her."

Kenway sat back and thought for a moment "The ball, it's a masquerade. It would provide great cover with the crowds and I'm sure Torres will have her on display."

"Get on your fancy clothes Kenway. Looks like we're crashing a party."
