Reunited

Chapter 1: Transfer

I woke up on the first day of school, in the spring. It was 6 in the morning, and school didn't start until 7. I decided to take a hot shower and put on my uniform, and I didn't even notice that my roommate, Goro, had been gone this whole time. I moved into an apartment complex that was directly across from the school, all the students lived here and the school was pretty much our second home. The only reason I'm here with all my friends is that I got accepted into Franxx High, and it was the next best thing from APE Highschool in the South. 

I stepped out the front door into the hallway, I walked downstairs to the front door of the apartment building and made my way out onto the street. As I walked to the store a few blocks away, I began to think. I've been with the same group of friends since kindergarten, although one of my friends named Naomi transferred to APE High. We were all happy for her because she got into such a prestigious school, but we were sad to see her go. Her leaving also meant we had another student joining us. I walked over to the convenience store and grabbed what I needed, which was just canned coffee to keep me up. After leaving, it was 6:40 AM, and I began to make my way to school.

"Hiro!" A voice from behind me called. It was Goro; my closest friend since kindergarten.

"Oh, good morning Goro." I sleepily replied. My body still wasn't ready for a full on conversation.

"Man, today's our first day in highschool, huh? Time really does fly." he said. "Oh! Did you hear about the new transfer student? She's a student from Klaxo Academy, and she's transferring here. She has some sort of reputation in Klaxo, though I'm not sure it's exactly 'honorable' per se." Goro added.

"Hm? What do you mean by reputation? And why would she have a bad one?" I asked.

"Beats me, guess we'll just have to find out ourselves." Replied Goro.

We continued walking to school and partook in some casual small talk. When we reached the school, it was 6:57 AM, meaning we only had 3 minutes to get to our class before we were marked late. I managed to get to my classroom before class started, and right as our teacher, Ms Nana, finished taking attendance, there was a knock on the door. As the door opened, a girl with 2 men wearing identical uniforms stood. The girl instantly caught my eyes. She had waist length pink hair, turquoise eyes and to top it all off, these alluring red horns.

"Agh" I grunted as I clutched the side of my head. When I thought of the way to describe her horns, I felt an incredibly strong wave of déjà vu. It feels like this isn't the first time I've met her; she seems so familiar, but even if I have seen her somewhere before, I can't remember where at all. Ms Nana began to speak.

"As you all know, Naomi transferred and has left the school. I'm sure most of you are saddened by her leave but thankfully, it opened up another spot so that a new student could join us. Everyone, please make her feel at home. Would you like to introduce yourself?" said Ms Nana as she glanced over to the new student.

"Sure. Good morning, you can call me Zero Two." she said with a plain and cold expression on her face. She seemed even more tired than I was. She took her seat next to me as we all sat there for the next 10 or so minutes. After the class ended, everybody began to walk to the cafeteria for breakfast but then I suddenly realized that I left my student ID in my locker. It definitely wasn't at home because I used it to get into the school.

"You guys go on ahead." I called. "I think I left my ID in my locker, I won't be able to get anything in the cafeteria without it."

"Okay, don't take that long though, we'll be waiting for you." said Ichigo.

I ran over to my locker in the Male locker area, and as I reached my locker, I saw the new girl wandering the aisle. I felt a tightness in my chest, she was even more beautiful in person.

"H-hey," I stuttered. "What are you doing here? The female lockers are on the other side of this room."

"Oh really? That's too bad." she said as she glanced over to the entrance. She made eye contact with me and my heart skipped a beat. She began to slowly walk towards me and as she reached me, she moved her fingers under my chin.

"You were in my class earlier, what's your name?" she asked.

"H-Hiro, I'm Hiro." I hastily replied.

"Hiro, huh?" she said with a smile. She licked her lips as she moved even closer to me.

"I think I've taken a liking to you, Hiro." she said as she stepped back. She smiled as she extended her arm out to me.

"I'm sure you already know who I am since I introduced myself earlier, but let's start over. I'm Zero Two, and I have a feeling we'll get along pretty well." she told me with a smile. 

I grab my ID from my locker and I turn to face Zero Two. 

"I-I'm headed to the cafeteria, you wanna come with?" I asked her. 

"Yeah *smiles*, lets go." She replies

I close my locker as me and Zero Two began to walk to the cafeteria. 

Zero Two's POV

"You were in my class earlier, what's your name?" I asked.

"H-Hiro, I'm Hiro." he hastily replied.

"Hiro, huh?" I said as I cracked a smile. I stepped closer and did a quick scan of him. 

"It feels like we've met before." I thought to myself. "We'll just have to see where this goes."

"I think I've taken a liking to you, Hiro." I said as as I began to step back. I smiled as I extended my arm out to him.

"I'm sure you already know who I am since I introduced myself earlier, but let's start over. I'm Zero Two, and I have a feeling we'll get along pretty well." I told him. Hiro opened his locker and reached for something. He then put his hands in his pockets. 

"I-I'm headed to the cafeteria, you wanna come with?" Hiro asked. 

"Yeah *smiles*, lets go." I reply, as Hiro closes his locker and the two of us make our way to the cafeteria.
