Hey Guys :) This is just a poem I wrote in memory of Jordan Rice, a 13 year old boy who sacrificed himself for the safety of his younger 10 year old brother, in the Queensland Floods that have happened recently.

The story of a hero who could not swim
But the courage of a lion bestowed upon him
He said 'No, don't take me. Please save my brother'
As little Jordan Rice stayed with his mother
The water rose all to fast and quick
And the young boy was losing his grip
The car went under and washed away
But the hero of the hour fought to stay
They latched onto a tree, as tight as they could
But the current kept raging, ruthless it stood
The selfless boy lost his place
And his mother knew she would lose this race
Although her chances were very slim
She let go trying to save him
The ugly waters swept her too
And at that moment she really knew
The strength and power of the water was too stong
It's heartbreaking to say, they are both now gone
The courage of little Jordan Rice
Came at a devestasting price
But he is known as a hero no less
As his family tries to pick up the pieces he left
It's now their time to rest in peace
As we say our farewells and begin to grieve
Jordan's bravery, we will never forget
As he is now woven into our hearts, forver indebt.
Rest In Peace Jordan Rice
Rest In Peace Donna Rice
My prayers go out to your family and everyone else who has been affected my these floods.
