I lay awake in bed, rubbing Renee's ever growing belly, talking to the babies that reside there.
"Hi, I'm daddy. I love you guys and when you come out, I'm gonna love you even more, take care of you guys and make sure you want for nothing."
"I really want a sandwich or three. Could you take care of that for me." Renee muttered, eyes still closed.
"Sure." I gave her a peck on the lips and made my way downstairs to the kitchen.
Our new house was beautiful. As expected, Renee chose the first option of houses. Andre opted not to lived with us, instead he stayed in Renee's condo, Nathan, however moved out of his apartment and moved in with Andre. It's officially a bachelor pad.
Bachelor. I can't wait to lose that titled. Renee is gorgeous, kind, forgiving, sweet, and the phenomenal sex is definitely a plus.
My thoughts were interrupted by the ringing of my phone.
"Hello, Ma." I answered.
"Hi, Son. We're having a family dinner tonight. I need you to come, we have a lot of things to talk about and get straight."
I sighed. "What do we need to get right, Ma?" Already knowing the answer.
"Don't worry about it now, we'll talk at dinner."
"I'm not bringing her it all your gonna do is make her feel unwelcomed." I stressed.
"Oh, pish posh. I just wanna have a nice dinner with my family. It's been years since we had one. Your sister is in town and I feel like cooking."
I shook my head. "Okay, Ma. We'll be there. What time?"
"7:30 sharp." She answered.
"Alright, bye, Ma, Love you."
"Love you too." Then the call disconnected.
I finished making Renee's peanut butter, turkey, ham, mustard, pickle and jelly sandwich, and went back upstairs to give it to her. On my way, I heard Rae awake in her room.
I delievered the sandwich and went to my baby girl. As soon as she saw me she squealed. I picked her up, along with her teddy, and brought her to our room.
"Look who's awake."
Renee's eyes shined with love for Rae, you'd never know she wasn't hers. That's how I hope I look at our children when their born. The triplets won't be our last kids but I pray I don't treat them any differently from how I treat my own flesh and blood.
"You okay, Babe?"
"I'm fine, Baby, just deep in thought."
I return the now empty plate to the kitchen when another thought crosses my mind. I still haven't told Renee about Ashley. There's a chance the baby isn't mine but if it is and it looks like me...I'm not gonna be able to explain that away. I have to tell her.
"Baby, what are we doing tonight?" Renee asks.
Rae is cuddled up to Renee's side inbetween Renee and I and we're watching A Haunted House.
"Oh, Ma called, she wants to have a family dinner since Leanna is in town."
"Aw, Leanna is back? When you go to dinner tell her to call me so we can do lunch."
"Tell her yourself, your going to dinner with me. Andre is going to be there too so you won't be alone.
"Great, can't wait." Renee responded monotoned.
