Some time later, they had searched the victims' homes, spoken to all relatives and gathered new evidence. Agent Rossi arrested a man whom the BAU was certain was the perpetrator. Everything seemed to fit. Who the women represented for was also clear: His mother. Unfortunately, they still did not know where the missing women were and the man seemed anything but cooperative."Let me talk to him." Y/N spoke to the agents.
"Absolutely not!" Dr. Reid exclaimed almost outraged.
„I think I know how to get through to him. I'm in line with his type of victim, that's going to help." She was convinced that she knew the right way to get the information she needed from him if she did it right and applied what she had learned. She knew enough about him and his kind of men to outwit him in conversation. Y/N knew she was good, though inexperienced, and it annoyed her that Reid was so opposed to give her a chance. He didn't think much of her and he made her feel that.
"Agent Y/N is too green and we have very little time. Matt and Dave should talk to him." Reid now turned to Emily.
"With all due respect, but I think it would be wrong to send two authoritarian men in there. They won't get any word out of him. I know how he feels about women and how he treats them. With me, he becomes careless." argued Y/N and started to get pissed off.
„I think she's right. Let her try. Dave and I stay close and we can always fill in if necessary." JJ touched her arm supportingly.
"Well, Agent Y/N will talk to him and the three of us keep an eye on her," Agent Prentiss nodded at JJ and Agent Rossi and turned to Dr. Reid "Spencer we all had our first time. She deserves a chance."So, Y/N now stood outside the interrogation room. Rossi, Prentiss, Reid and JJ were in the other room behind the glass, ready to step in in case something happened or she did something wrong. Spencer Reid didn't trust her, she knew it. He wouldn't take his eyes off her and collect every mistake she made.
Y/N closed her eyes and gathered herself. She didn't like what she was going to do now, but it was necessary. It didn't help that the others would watch every step she takes waiting for something imprudent. But she had been preparing for this moment for years. She had rehearsed it and studied it over and over again. She was ready, no matter how much she despised this man who killed two women. She was ready to wrap him around her finger and get the necessary information and maybe even a confession out of him. She knew she could do it.
She put on her sweetest smile, put down her hair, took a deep breath and entered the room.
As soon as she stood in the room, she was no longer herself. She was someone else, someone who didn't believed that this nice, handsome man with the big brown eyes could have had anything to do with these acts. If she was honest, these women didn't deserve it any other way. They should have been glad that someone took care of them and desired them. They shouldn't have been allowed to do so, these bitches. They shouldn't have been so coy.
This person in the room flirted with him. She sat down in front of him at the edge of the table, twirled one of her long blonde strands around her fingers, smiled and laughed at his jokes. She made him beautiful eyes, always leaning forward a little too far, admired him and complimented him. She gossiped about the deceased, about the police and the FBI, about how incompetent everyone was. She talked about the mistakes of this society, about the fact that everyone wanted more and wanted to push themselves into the spotlight. That there were no more values and norms that mattered. She talked about how little women knew about life, how little they knew in general, and that she didn't understood how it was not every woman's greatest wish to start a family and make their husband happy. Working women were overrated and she herself only did it as long as she was waiting for the right one. She brought him coffee, asked about his well-being and weather she could get him something to eat. She took care of him.He himself, liked this young girl. She was pretty. Perfect hair and perfect curves. Everything was in place. Her blue eyes sparkled when she spoke to him and her laughter was for him. He liked being flattered like that. He trusted her, since she didn't seem particularly intelligent to him either.
This person had not swallowed Y/N. She was still there, watching everything with every sense. She noticed the change in the room, she saw that he was looking for her closeness, she felt that he trusted her. She noticed every change in the body language and linguistics of her counterpart. It was as if time stood still for her, as if it was only her, him and the person she turned into were in the room. She no longer realized that the others were watching her. It was like a dance between the two. That's when she knew the right time had come to set his trap, and she knew exactly how she would do it.
She touched him slightly on the arm, looking to the ground "I wish all the men would be like you. All of them would represent these values. I wish I had someone who could satisfy my needs and know how to deal with me, someone who makes my life easier and shows me where my place is. Someone I could give children, who I could care for and who would look after me. Someone I could live for. " She looked into his eyes. " Yes, I want something like that too." He swallowed. She had him exactly where she wanted him. "What could you offer me? How do you imagine your life?" He looked at her and said, "I'd kill for a woman like you, I'd do anything. I wish my mother would have understood what sacrificing oneself for family means. But she was a whore who thought she was better than us. Even as a child I dreamed of a small house by the lake. With my wife hanging out the laundry and our children playing on the porch. I used to play it a lot back then with my mother. I would like to teach my sons later how to build huts on the edge of the forest from branches and stones. But I need the perfect woman for that. All the previous ones were spoiled and not worth it. They didn't deserve to live."
That was enough for Y/N. She knew exactly where the women were. She looked at the window where the others were, stood up and without turning around again she left the room.
She looked at the baffled faces of her colleagues. "Remember the small clearing in the woods where the bodies were found?" The others nodded. Rossi was the first to knew what she was getting at: "There was a small stream and a collection of sticks and stones. As far as I know, this stream leads to a tiny lake." Everyone stormed off, leaving only Emily Prentiss and Y/N behind. "I'm impressed. That was very good work Agent Y/N!" Y/N, now completely herself again, felt bad, she was sure she was gonna throw up right away. She still smelled his cheap after shave. Smiling at her boss, trying not to let it show, she muttered a 'thank you' and headed for the bathroom.
