Stop and take a look around us
See what all is happening in our lives
Is a loved one sick?
Did someone just get a job promotion?
What about your friends
What’s happening in their lives
Are they happy
Or is something happening
That might be destroying them inside
Sometimes you just have to stop
Because sometimes
We’re so caught up in ourselves
We miss the biggest things in life
We miss our kids growing older
And the first kisses they have
Or we miss our parents being sick
And then suddenly
They just aren’t there
We miss the biggest things
All because we
Didn’t take the time
To stop
And appreciate everything around us
And that’s the biggest mistake
We all will make
