Dear Depression
You did not come
Like a hurricane
Whipping wind
And then leaving
You started
As cloudy skies
And cold spells
Then you changed
Into dark clouds
And high winds
Then it was a drizzle
A little spell
Over so quick
It was almost unnoticeable
And then it was rain
That came in spouts
And left you wanting more
And then it was a storm
That only I noticed
That was so sudden
As I hadn't realized
The clouds
The drizzle
The rain
Until it was a storm
Leaving me crying
And desperately trying
To get inside
But I had nowhere to go
So you see
You weren't a hurricane
You're a storm
Trying to destroy towns
And flood houses
And clinging to people
Making them drown
And now you have caught me
But I haven't drowned yet
I'm still fighting
To stay afloat
And get out of this storm
