I started cleaning the mess in his room. I was vacuuming when a paper got stuck. I kneeled down and grabbed it. Oh, wow. That was the same semi-crumpled paper that he tried to hide from me.
Out of curiosity, I unfolded the paper only to be surprised. It was a letter from the Philippines. My tears fell after reading what it says. I ran out of his room and grabbed my phone.
"Yes, my beauty? Have you--"
"Care to explain why you did not hand me the letter that was addressed to me?"
"Babe, I can explain. Wait for me and do not do anything stu--"
I ended the call while he's talking. I am mad because this letter is important. I never expected him to keep this thing from me.
When I flew to live with Baekhyun here in Korea, I disconnected myself from everything that will remind me of the Philippines. I took down my SNS and even my email.
The letter was from my family lawyer. He is requesting me to go back to my country because a lawsuit has been filed against Sir Henry and me.
Lawsuit? What lawsuit? I read further. It says in his lengthy letter that it was filed by the company owner, which happens to be Sir Henry's brother-in-law, and I am being accused as the accessory to the crime because of my close relationship with my former boss.
I checked the date of the letter, and it was sent months ago. Baekhyun has been hiding this to me for months now? Damn him! He better has a good explanation or he's done for.
"Babe, please. I can explain everything. Just wait for me." Baekhyun texted me. I am still fuming mad. How could he keep this important thing to me? I was living my life here with him without knowing that I am being accused of a crime I don't even have a participation with.
I turned my email on and found numerous emails from Atty. Tiangco. Good thing I left him with Baekhyun's address before I left. I composed a message asking for the complete details of the case.
I started biting my nails. Haist. This is stressing me out. I thought Sir Henry's wife would stop picking on me when I left the country. But she did the opposite. If only I knew that Sir Henry liked me romantically, there is no way that I will agree to be with him alone. I only think of him as my father. No more, no less.
Even Though I know that I am innocent, I can't help but think about the case. I am anxiously waiting for Atty. Tiangco's reply when a dashing and sweaty Byun Baekhyun appeared came. He was still panting when he entered my door.
"Babe *pants* *pants* I can *pants* explain." He said while gasping for air. I just glared at him. How could he not tell me such an important thing!
"This letter is addressed to me! My name is clearly written here. I read the whole thing and never once did your name appear." I said.
"This is such an important thing for me. A case was filed and I am accused of something I did not do. Silence means yes, and my non-appearance in my country could mean that I am guilty." I said.
Tears are threatening to come out of my eyes. First, Sir Henry's wife accused me of being a homewrecker and his other woman. Now she's accusing me of what? Embezzling money? Why would I do that, when I have a lot!
And the fact that Baekhyun did not even mention this to me is making me more furious. I could have handled it sooner if only he bothered to tell me about this.
"Relax. Relax. I never told you anything about it because I knew you would react like this." He said after he regained his normal breathing.
"What are you trying to say? That it's better that I found out about it too late?
