(Xavier’s POV)

When I first shifted to San Clemente, I was pretty damn excited cause I'd be meeting my angel after such a long time. Nobody could have expected the urge to resist my father I had when we were practically forced to move away because of his shitty job. Finally, mom had made a decision and we were back here.

My father opted on visiting us during vacations and staying back for work as it was becoming very hectic for him too. He was obsessed with his work and money while I lacked the father figure in my life but I’d never let Juliana feel that and I’m proud of it.

So, finally when I saw lilah I couldn’t believe my eyes. She had grown into a gorgeous woman. She used to be my nerd partner and we planned on travelling the word together, hence the tattoo I had on the side of my neck. I couldn’t take my eyes of her as I stood by the kitchen entrance but when I saw her lost in trance I interrupted and couldn’t help the sarcastic comments. She was quick to revert.

We visited the city before during my vacation in middle school, when mom got to know about Mr. Miller leaving lilah and her family. She wanted to comfort her best friend, so we visited for a while. I knew how it was to not have a father figure but what lilah must have gone through was different and I wanted to comfort her. Now that I’m here I’ll make sure she gets the world that she deserves.

Then we went to school. The place was great and in a hurry to explore I forgot about lilah and went in. There I collided with a guy on my way to the office because I had to collect my belongings.

“Aye mate, watch where you going?”He growled.

“Whoa man, calm down.”I said picking up his books and my bag.

I looked up and saw a guy with deep green eyes standing there and I thought I recognized him from somewhere. But he glared at me and ran off.

I shrugged and walk back. After collecting my belongings, I went up to my locker to find that it was just near Lilah’s and I saw her and her friend standing there.

I went up to make small conversation and honestly her friend was pretty cool. I could feel we were gonna bond well.

When lilah left I talked to Stella.

“You know, I can see you are interested in her. “She said as I stared at Lilah back as she left.

“Very much “I said.

“She comes with a label handle with care” she mentioned playfully.

“I am a collector of Antiques and fragile objects, madame”I added
And she gave a full blown smiled.

Then she patted my back and said “we are gonna bond, little boy.”

“Oh really” I asked playfully shoving her to the side.

Then she showed me to class. I had the class with lilah and it was pretty fun.

Later I and the green eyed guy was stopped by the drama teacher before break as she wanted to ask me about the upcoming play. I shared this class with Lilah, Stella and the green eyed boy from this morning and I had a feeling I knew him.

Miss. Montez, our drama teacher said, “Xavier Dylan, I would like you both to be a part of my upcoming play so that you both can work on your grades to pass the semester.”

“That’s fine by me “I said.

“But Gina-“Dylan started casually as she was not much elder than us.

“Manners. And what I said is final. ”She glared and exited.

“Hey dude. Wait up.”I called

“Hurry up. Do I know you? “He said.
And it clicked who he was. I saw him yesterday when we got here. He was my neighbor.

“You are Dylan Black right?”I asked

“Yes. “He replied monotonously.

“Oh you are my neighbor. I shifted just yesterday. Hey man” I said
“Ah so are him.” he said and left.

Till then the lunch was over and I continued with my other classes.
As the school ended I went near Lilah’s car and found Ezabella standing ther. She was my lab Partner for chemistry and I had to get some notes.

“There you go.” she said handing me the notes.

“Thanks” I said.

“You know you should no hang out with her. She might be beautiful but she’s practically hollow from within. Completely void.”She said

“And who is this she?”

“Lilah”she said.

“Mind your words Bella.”I said.

And she left as she saw Lilah approaching. I was kind of affected by Ezabella's words. Lilah did seem different but I'm not going to believe anyone and judge her just like that. Later I reached home and mom asked me get my angel here as her mom was already there.

I texted her and went out. There I found Dylan smoking outside his house. Finally, I approached him I could hear noises from his house. We made small talk and guess We got well together. Then I left to get Lilah.

What I saw when I reached her place was unbelievable I saw her running back into her house and a guy on her doorstep. I rushed towards her house just as the guy left and found my angel.
I tried to soothe her. Seeing her so broken was breaking me down.
Finally we left for dinner and when she left my house all I could think was that today was one heck of a day and slept thinking about my Lilah.
