Your POV

Despite John and Alex being at work, I made my way to their apartment. I was fairly sure I'd left my sketchbook there, and seeing as that thing was essentially my baby, I wanted to get it back.

Shortly after arriving at their apartment, I found said possession on the coffee table. Before I could make my way back out though, my phone pinged.

I pulled it out of my back pocket, checking the screen.

Johnny
Hey chickadee! I don't know if you're busy but I might've forgotten... (just now)

I didn't even have to open the full message to know what he was going to ask. I huffed, laughing quietly to myself as I unlocked my phone.

Hey chickadee! I don't know if you're busy but I might've forgotten my lunch at home, and seein as I still have a while until my shifts over... Could you swing by there to grab it and bring it here? Thank you. Te amo <3

(N/N): You're lucky I love you as much as I do. I'll be there shortly with it. Te amo también <3

Instead of shutting my phone off again, I went to Herc's contact, pressing the little phone.

He picked up after a few moments. "Hello?"

"Hey, Bear. Hope I'm not botherin' you right now," I responded.

"'Course you're not, sweetheart. What's up?" Herc answered.

"I just wanted to ask if you wanted to swing by with me to John and Alex's work? John left his lunch at home and asked me to drop it off."

"'Course he did, the day after we talk about it." Herc sighed, chuckling to himself. "Sure, though. You want me to pick you up? Nobody's in here right now so I can come get you now," he offered.

"That works, Bear. Thank you," I told him.

"I'll see you in a bit then, babe. Love you," Herc replied.

"Love you too, Herc. See you shortly."

Upon hanging up, I went over to the kitchen area, opening the fridge. Aside from John's lunch though, I also saw Alex's. No surprise I guess? I took out both, making my way back out of the apartment and down the stairs to wait for Herc.

Although he came along with me, Herc opted to stay in the car once we got to the office building.

I'd been in the building enough times to know my way around pretty well, saying "hello" to a few people here and there and promptly ignoring Lee once I got to his and John's floor.

Of course, he always tried to talk and flirt with me anyway, but once he knew I was walking to John's little office, he stopped walking beside me, not wanting to start something (else) with my boyfriend.

I knocked on the door, waiting a moment before opening it and poking my head in anyway. "John?"

He looked up from copying something down from his computer, momentarily surprised but smiling after a moment. "Baby girl! I was tryna write somethin' down, sorry."

I shut the door behind me, walking over to him. "You're gonna become Lexi, I swear."

John chuckled, setting his pen down. "Blame Washington for the work. He don't go lightly on some of us."

"'Cause he knows you're a good worker. Unlike other people," I huffed, setting down his lunch container, "who would rather flirt with the girls."

"Is Lee givin' you a problem?" John's hazel eyes narrowed slightly. "I ain't afraid to have a word with him."

"It's nothing new, baby, don't worry. I gotta go give Lexi his lunch though too so I don't keep Herc waiting."

"Herc didn't come up?" John asked.

I shook my head. "No."

John frowned. "Aw. Tell him I love him though." He stood up from his chair, leaning down slightly to pull me into a kiss. "And thank you again. You're a lifesaver."

"Someone's gotta look out for you boys," I teased.

John huffed, smiling regardless. "I'll let you go, chickadee. Te amo. I'll see you tonight."

"I'll see you then. Te amo," I replied.

He gave me another quick kiss before I turned to leave the room, making my way up another couple floors.

I arrived at Alex's office, knocking on the door. Like with John, I opened the door when I didn't get a response, but I was only met with an empty room instead.

My eyebrows furrowed. "Huh? Alex?"

"Miss (L/N)?"

I turned my head to see Washington coming over. "Mr. Washington! I was just looking for Alex, my apologies. He forgot his lunch again."

"Don't worry about it, Miss (L/N)." Washington waved his hand. "However, I actually haven't seen him at all today. I don't know where he could be."

"So, he's just.. not even here?" I asked, even more confused.

"Not that I've seen. I've been pretty busy today but I know I still would've seen him," Washington answered.

"That's weird..." I replied quietly. "Well, I'll make sure he calls you when I see him," I told him.

"Thank you, Miss (L/N). That'd be greatly appreciated. Have a good day."

"You too, Mr. Washington."

When I got back into Herc's car, he was surprised to still see me with Alex's container. "Why didn't he take it?"

"He wasn't even there," I answered. "I saw Washington while looking into Lex's office and he told me he hasn't seen him all day."

Herc's eyebrows furrowed. "Maybe he's at Laf and I's? Laf isn't home yet though."

"I got no idea, Bear. I'm sure we'll see him tonight though. We can ask him about it then," I suggested.

Herc nodded, starting the car engine. "I just don't get it. He's never just not shown up to work. He always says something."

"I'm as confused as you are, Herc. But we'll figure it out."

Make that two things I had to ask Alex about today. If we even saw him ourselves.
