*(BG: Talking Heads - Burning Down The House)*

"Just stick to me wherever we go, Ok?" Max reminded Jess as she picked a basket nearby entrance and then, grabbed Jess's hand. At every stands of goods, Jess acted as if a 5 year old girl running around to every items she likely to have, but, of course, Max seemed been acting like a mother to her for not letting her to have such random items she wanted to have.: a frozen beef meat worth 9.99, frozen half chicken worth 11.99, but Max kept returning those whenever Jess put it directly on a basket, "It's too pricey, I'm sorry..." Max said apologetically, until an item which made Max scratched her head: 6 bottles of Gatorade?? Though it was quite frozen and pricey, but Jess gestured that it was for her and for the boys, which Max understood what she was trying to say.

Somehow Max just realized how fun it would be for being with Jess. She's a typical person who had a very light personality, with a little childish side. Although Jess can't talk that much, but whatever she's doing really shows. Max could consider her as the real *Survivor* with her very young age and experience. She also thought about her company's well-being. She also reminded her of El, but only that Jess was softer.

The moment they already at the cashier, Max might not noticed this, but Jess had been staring at the cashier's computer, which it also reminded her of her past event. The cashier seemed kind of distracted and kept peering at her, until they heard a small pop at the other side of the counter. Max and the cashier startled by the pop, and found out, the computer was shut down and a black smoke already came out. The cashier and the people in line at that side went in shock. While everybody focused on it, the computation of Max's bill got jammed, too, and then, turned out, her bill was too low, which the cashier didn't even checked it further and Max paid the bill, instead. Max kept on peering at Jess, which she thought that she maybe the one who did this. It also turns out, Max have purchased all items which she kept returning awhile ago the moment she checked it when they're already outside, on her bike. Max was mind-blown, "I can't believe you did that!!" Max exclaimed, though kind of exaggerated while they were on the road. Jess was just beaming at her.
------------------------------------------------------

"Alright, Dudes! I'm gonna need some extra power here to test our restored and upgraded, one-of-a-kind Energy charge..-"

"Dude, it's energy saver." Lucas informed, interrupting Dustin, who was about to stretch the cord from the base of the machine once again.

"Ok.. Ok.. It's Energy Saver... Even though it's just an energy charge performance..." Dustin agreed, though with a side comment which Lucas glared back at Dustin. He passed on the head of the cord to Mike like it's their routine before and Mike went over to the kitchen door as he pulled the cord farther and reached out inside the door frame abruptly where the outlet was and hadn't check it after. Mike seemed not in himself at that moment.

"Alright... It's already plugged in!" Mike called, though glumly because of El, and then went back to the front of the table where Dustin and Lucas were standing, as they watched their project to check if it'll going to work again.

Max and Jess were in the kitchen, doing some cooking for their early dinner, since it was already past afternoon. Max was teaching Jess on how to fry dishes such as sausages and scrambled eggs.

"No, Jess! That's not a cooked one!" Max bellowed, as she noticed Jess was about to bite one of frozen sausages from it's package and hurriedly grabbed it away from her. Jess's eyes fixed on it as Max took it away,

"Cold food!" Jess called, quite excitedly, which made Max shook her head,

"No, Jess... It's unhealthy, and it's still raw to be eaten, Ok?" Max explained while she put the sausage back to it's package and put it far away from Jess' reach.

"Hungry..." Jess purred as she held her stomach. Max watched her, as though guilt ran through her,

"We'll have a dinner in no time, ok? Don't worry..." Max reminded her softly and went to the fridge to put the packages in it.

But the moment she went back, she saw to her dismay, Jess already ate half of the frozen, raw chicken which was left at the counter. Max just sighed in disbelief, doesn't know whether was about to throw-up, or just watched her eat the whole thing, as Jess noticed Max was watching her, she just gave her a hearty grin as she continued eating it and then offered Max a piece of raw chicken leg. Max just shook her head.

"Dude, It's not working..." Dustin said, while kept pressing the switch on his hand, as he kept peering at their machine. Nothing happened.

"C'mon, dude? How come it won't work?"  Lucas complained, "Have you checked the switch?"

"I've already plug it in, what's the matter?" Mike called as he went beside them, though lamely, and peered at the machine, now crooked his eyebrows.

"Dude! Just... check your switch! Maybe it's also jammed!" Lucas suggested, as he realized that they haven't check its parts yet. The moment Dustin opened its box, those wires were out of place. Mike and Lucas scratched their heads in frustration.

"Hey, guys! Dinner's ready! Where do you want to eat? Here? Or inside the dining...-" the moment she asked that, three of them just gave her a sulky look. "What happened this time?"  She asked lamely, giving them a meh look.

"The switch jammed. Thanks to this 'techie' guy..." Mike muttered lazily, and quite frustrated, which he preferred Dustin as the 'techie guy'.

"It wasn't even burned... So just thought it was still working..." Dustin just reasoned out, and sounds defeated.

"How will we be able to fix the switch? We don't have spare wires for it!"  Lucas said, quite frustrated, knowing their presentation will be tomorrow.

The boys had another argument about the switch and Max just became their referee, when suddenly, the machine started. All of them froze and stared at it as it runs. Out of curiosity, Mike ran over to the kitchen door, and saw to his amazement, Jess was standing there, right in front of the outlet. It seemed she fixed the plug properly. The moment Jess saw Mike, she beamed at him innocently. Mike don't even have an idea what's gotten in to him, but he suddenly gave her a bear hug, which made Jess flinched from it, which Mike didn't even realized that due to the overwhelming feeling, until he just felt the awkward atmosphere. He just felt three pairs of eyes staring at them from outside, and turned his head on them. He saw Max just put her hands on her waist in disbelief. He just gave them an awkward smile as he let Jess go gently, who seemed not aware of what was going on as she stared at him wide-eyed. Mike blinked, as he also realized how close he was to her and how Dustin was right about her eye-color the moment he stared at it, sparkling hazel-brown.

"Um... I'm sorry, I just... gotta...-"  Mike muttered, quite stammered and then trailed off as he blinked.  He just gestured in random, and then got out once again, and left her there, clearing his throat, and ignored their glares as he passed them by. Three of them followed and watched the running machine. Then for about a minute, Max thought of something,

"Dustin... Aren't you aware that... as you are testing the machine right now... was actually the teleportal you're talking about?"  Max muttered, quite terrified by the sound of her voice, which made Dustin just stared in space, wide-eyed,

"Totally... forgot..." As Dustin muttered that, another small explosion was heard from afar and all of them turned their heads to where it came from.
---------------------------------------------------------

"There's another... Subject 2 was on the loose." The girl named Suzie announced. She's still at the same place. "Will note the coordinates."

"Where is it, Ma'am?" One of the staff asked, and then Suzie just smirked,

"It's the same as... Subject 10." She said darkly, as though she already knew what's going to happen.
-------------------------------------------------------

There was a small outage happened in Max's residence. The whole block lost electricity. Their machine just shut down as well. The only light they have was the light of the full moon.

"Oh! C'mon! Why now??" Dustin whined, hence, feeling the cold breeze, but then,

"Dude! It's ok! As long as we just tested our machine, and it works!" Lucas reminded, though stammered due to the commotion,

"Dude... What about the...-" Mike was about to tell them about the portal when they heard an eerie, unearthed sound howled from afar, which also made them terrified even more, knowing the familiar sound, "Portal..." Mike muttered, finishing his sentence which almost a whisper, as he stared in space, wide-eyed,

"Dude... " Dustin muttered in fright, not moving on his spot,

"Yeah... dude... It's..." Mike muttered, but then,

"Demogorgon, dude!" Lucas hissed, not able to hold it any longer, and then,

"Guys! Get inside! Now!" Max bellowed, and then all of them scrammed and hurried into the house in panic.

"Oh my God... Oh my God... Oh my God..." Dustin muttered in panic, though raising his hands in the air due to its pitch black inside the house,

"Just shut up, dude! You're making us scared more..." Mike protested, though in a panic sound, "So dark in here! Max, do you have flashlight?" Mike requested, though he can't see Max whereabouts, but only their voices,

"I got it. Here..." Max sounded not far enough from them, and felt the flashlight on his cheek, and he just grabbed it. The moment he opened it, all of them were crouching low. The howling sound continued, and then realized, it was growing closer. Mike just realized with something,

"Where... Where's Jess?"  Mike asked shortly, though almost a whisper due to fright. The others just shook their heads the moment he pointed them the torch, until he witnessed... the kitchen door was still opened. "Ho... Holy... Shit..." Mike cussed under his breath, staring at the doorway, "I forgot to lock the door..."  And then three of them gasped in terror, until they heard the eerie sound was just about outside of the door. But something he just witnessed and don't even want to believe it, Jess was there standing along the doorway, as if she was waiting for it to come. Mike got hysterical as he saw her there, which made others witnessed, too, "Jess! Come in here! Get away from there!" But the moment he called her, Jess just went outside, not even having a second thought, which made them terrified more.

"Oh. Holy... mother of God!! Jess!!" Dustin yelled frantically, and then they hurried outside in panic and was about to catch Jess,

"What the hell's gotten in to her!" Lucas protested under his breath, following behind,

"I just let her ate the whole thing..." Max blurted out frantically, though unintentionally, which made the boys froze and turned to look at her with question mark plastered on their faces,

"What the HELL are you talking about??"  Mike bellowed, though frantically, "What did you gave her??" As he said that, The eerie sound was getting louder, which made them startled and thought about Jess.

They were about to follow Jess, but the moment they went outside, an awe expressions plastered on their faces, witnessing Jess was eventually facing the howling demogorgon, as if she was facing a person. The demogorgon was standing way taller as expected, kept examining her. Jess tilted her head as the way she looked at the demogorgon as if she was mocking it. The surroundings went darker, and a bit of snow started, strong wind blew around them. Four of them exchanged glances, as they realized the changes of the weather in an instant. The moment they heard another howl in up-close, Jess removed her gloves and threw it aside,

"What the hell is she doing, dude??" Dustin stammered, as he kept himself right behind Mike, who was just curiously watching her,

"I dunno... Just watch... I guess..." Mike muttered, though blankly, as if he was focused on her, he just gulped in terrified, knowing that they don't have guts to fight with the demogorgon themselves.

The demogorgon was the first one attacked and was aiming at her head, but, Jess was so fast as she dodged it, which it lost its balance and about to slid right through them, which made the four screamed in terror, but she suddenly caught it's neck right behind it to stop, as if she was just grabbing a person's neck, though the creature stands 8 feet.

She was already above its back, still grabbing its neck, as it stood up. Without any warning, she forcefully ripped one of its teethed petals which the creature howled even louder. Blood spilled all over her face. She seemed as if she was having fun playing with it and threw it aside. As the creature reached out to her by its arm, she even grabbed it and pulled it out as it ripped off without even applying such force. The creature, then went another howl, and gone to its knees in agony, losing its blood. Jess went to her feet on the ground right after, which left the creature still on its knees, dismembered. It was breathing deeply. Jess seemed focus on the creature as she went in front of it, blood running from its ripped petal. Though everyone thought it was over, and thought that the creature was about to collapse, it suddenly charged right to her face by its petals as it grabbed her, which four of them yelled in fright, but, they realized, Jess eventually ripped it's inner part of the throat, and it's petals loosed, and suddenly, she ripped the body apart, way down to its navel effortlessly, blood pooled all over it. inner parts splattered all over the place, which four of them almost threw up while they witnessed the scene. Her pupil almost changed color into black.

Jess blinked, as she looked up for a fresh air, dropped the ripped petal head of the creature from her grip. The four was about to move slowly closer to her, panting, though shakily, as they checked the creature, which wasn't moving at all.

"Holy.... Shit... dude... She's not human..." Lucas muttered, terrified, and looked as though anytime Jess would attack him as he just followed them behind, not able to compose himself.

"Jess... Are... Are you... ok?" Mike called softly, though stammered, able to compose himself as he reached out to her, who was still standing there. The moment Jess turned to face them; she was filled with the creature's blood. Her eyes changed back to normal brown. Jess slowly looked at herself and realized what she had done,

"I'm... sorry..."  Jess muttered, and then the four felt another changes of the weather. It turned in to a normal, though still cold, weather, the atmosphere went back, and the electricity came back. Mike was about to touch her, but Jess flinched as she moved farther, "No..." She muttered, and then, their machine started once again. Jess startled with the energy charged appeared at the rod, and made her collapsed on the ground, remembering her past, and also due to the exhaustion. Dustin suddenly pulled the plug, knowing it would create a black hole once again, which made all of them looked at Dustin abruptly,

"I don't want another intruder... That's all..."  Dustin reminded, though panicky, the moment he felt their eyes on him. All of them stood there, examining the scene, still dumbfounded.

"What the hell are we going to do with it?" Lucas asked which he referred to the dead creature right beside Jess, who just collapsed there.
"What happened to her?" Mike asked curiously, eyes fixed on Jess,

"Maybe she's just... tired..." Max reasoned out, as she also examined Jess,

"No, I mean... Her reaction... She was looking at the rod recently...” Mike said, as he looked back at their machine,

"Oh, That..."  Max began, "She was reminded by her past... I saw it when I first touched her by her bare hands... She's terrified with electric charge..." This left the boys stared at her with their awe expression on their faces. "I think we need to burn the creature, before others find out..." Max informed as she glared at the dead creature, and the boys just nodded blankly.

"Good call..." Mike said blankly.
